A few from Colgagh at the weekend, there was a few different species around on Saturday morning, i got a brief sighting of the resident Otter, he was around the middle of the Loch so too far for a decent shot, i also watched the family of Swans as one of the parent birds was teaching the youngsters to fly, she would fly low for a few yards as the youngsters behind her would flap their wings furiously as if to emulate her but i think they've a while to go yet before they take flight.

At lunchtime on my local patch today I heard the lovely sound of Pink Footed Geese and counted 32 flying north overhead, a lovely atmosphere and has made my day. Ruby Roo boxer skipped and jumped with her Dadda'a joy. Then nearing our home while speaking to a friend some delightful news for my Good Friend on here I saw my first Small Copper Butterfly of the year, talk about better late and never!:84:

This morning on my local patch I was lucky to find a superb Yellow Browed Warbler showing well in the company of Blue *, Long Tailed *, a Coal *, a Robin, Bullfinches, Goldcrests, and a Female Blackcap. Safety in numbers at it's very best.
You should Google Yellow Browed Warbler, they are very attractive wee birds, only slightly bigger than a Goldcrest and are scarce migrants to these Isles each Autumn, this is my Best Bird of 2022 so far and easily the best ever views of this little gem.
Yesterday on my patch i had a hunting Female Peregrine stooping down above Llandudno after a Pigeon, also a cool Chough flew right past me and a Sparrowhawk being mobbed by a Carrion Crow.

Check out latest Episode of Landward on BBC I Player, Episode 15 of Current series, they are in the Cairngorms National Park for this one and feature a Goshawk nest sight in Badenoch near Kingussie, i found that pair back in early spring of 2016 and my mate Dave Pearce is on the show, he went on that very early Spring and found the actual Nest as featured on show, cool:84:
I miss this Area, hope to go back three times next year with Ruby Roo of course, but would settle for 2 visits:84:

A few from Saturday morning, I didn't get a lot of time for photos at the weekend, Sat morning started out dry, the sun was just coming up over the hill at my back when the sky ahead turned black and heavy and within a few minutes it was lashing but i managed to get a fleeting visit from a flustered Kingfisher who was being harassed by a Pied Wagtail.

That's a helluva sighting good friend. Never seen a Yellow Browed Warbler. Not too sure if they come that far North to Glasgow. No wonder it's your Bird of the Year so far.
