If he had Tierneys pace and size he’d be world class.

I love him but the left flank still seems the most exposed defensively.
Might be down to Jota's not keen (ordered) to chase the ball back?
Could be tweaked with some formation adjustments.

Interesting to see who covers the most ground in the first team. Suspect it might be him over McGregor.

Seems to get around a bit more than Juranovic as well.

Wouldn't agree with this at all the last 4 games minimum, possibly this season.

He’s not wrong either. And Tierney is world class now, at us he wasn’t far away, but what Taylor’s doing, is a role I don’t think he could beat Taylor at.

    And that is insane.

Tbf I think Tierney would be an excellent inverted fullback. Taylor has been outstanding but I still wish he had a bit more pace on him. Not a dig at Taylor btw just think pace is still his achilles heel.

I still miss the wee *.

As good as Taylor is now under Ange, imagine KT in this team injury free.

Thought Taylor was excellent for Scotland yesterday. His introduction changed us into a more effective attacking side.

Callum McGregor and Taylors link up play with each other is insane.

I hope Gilmour pushes on and plays week in, week out, because him and McGregor have a similar link because that’s Gilmours natural game, and he’s very good at it. Add Taylor into that, and it’ll happen rarely because the left backs infront of him, but they’ll dominate possession

Aye they were linking up well.

I was getting * off with Christie as it felt like he was trying his best not to link up with Taylor. Boy was infuriating last night even though he got a goal and assist :giggle1:

With the latest international break done and dusted, the Celts return to domestic action this Saturday with the visit of Motherwell, and the men in green and white are fully aiming to strengthen their place at the top of the table.

The game against the Fir Park side is the first of a heavy schedule of important matches between now and the next break in mid-November, and Greg Taylor and his team-mates are itching for the challenge ahead.

The defender told Celtic TV: “We know this next part until the winter break is going to be hectic, but we know it’s such a vital part of our season.

‘There are a lot of games, a lot of big games in different competitions, so as a squad we’re ready to go and hit it head on, and hopefully get the results, and more importantly the performances that we need.’

“Today is the first day we’ve had the debrief of the game before the international break which of course was disappointing.

“Not just in the result, but in our performance, so all the boys are eager to put on a performance that the fans deserve.

“They’ve had to sit on it for a couple of weeks while we’ve been playing international football, so we’re looking forward to getting back out there.”

The Hoops will get back out there against a Motherwell side who will be keen to move up from their mid-table position, and Taylor knows that can bring its own threat.

He said: “They’ll be a difficult opponent. They’ve had a change of manager and I think they’re playing a wee bit more out from the back and trying to play a bit more football.

“So that again brings with it more challenges for us, but as a team we try to focus on what we do and bringing our strengths to the party.

“And if we can do that on Saturday, we know we will be difficult to stop, but equally we know we need to be right at it.”

Not only is Taylor a table-topper with the Hoops, he, along with a couple of Celtic team-mates, is also part of the Scotland squad that finished the latest break at the top of their table following a successful international camp.

And former Celt and fellow full-back, Kieran Tierney was waxing lyrical about the influence Taylor is having on his play.

The Celt said: “Kieran’s a close friend and he’s also a top player. We’re playing similar roles now at Celtic and Arsenal, so if we can help each other out here and there, then I’m sure it will only benefit us both

“It was a successful camp as a group and also personally nice to reach 10 caps for my country. So it was a successful international period.

“There’s quite a few perks that come with it - I think we’re now seeded for the Euros draw, the play-off game if it comes to that, and the chance to play against the top drawer teams in Europe, so it’s a good period to look forward to.”

He added: “When you’re in a good place at your club, it definitely helps going into the national team.

“This season’s been pretty strong as a group for us, so for me to go away and be selected for the country, it only comes from being a part of what you are doing at your club.”
