    Absolutely outstanding so far, it grips you like nothing else at its best; this and GOT.

    Everyone has their opinion on how rushed the ending was in GOT but as a whole series and in terms of scale no other franchise comes close. It’s next level.

    I’m still only on episode 3 but this is nowhere near GOT for me so far but I’m enjoying it still.

    Nothing comes close to prime GOT or The Sopranos for me, both of which I’m watching through again the now while neglecting House of Dragon might I add :giggle1:

    Some may not be enjoying the relatively slow paced and contained nature of the show so far.. those first five episodes were basically a prologue to the bulk of the plot which will happen after the 10 year time skip.

    Matt Smith in particular has been a fantastic Daemon Targaryen.. a thoroughly likeable sociopath.

    I don’t even think it’s been that slow. All the wee set ups have been compelling enough to keep me well interested. It’s about to kick off big time mind you.

    Would agree with McEwan. Don’t think it’s been slow at all.

    The cast is excellent. It’s a shame that we’re not going to see more of the younger cast. They were brilliant.

    Edit. Just watched the trailer myself. Strange decision to change the cast half way through the season. I was just starting to think they were actually quite good.

    Not to spoil anything but it's difficult to see Millie Alcock being able to pull off what's coming in terms of plot (due to the time skip and all that)..

    So it's understandable.

    I wasn’t sure about this episode at all. I thought episode 5 was excellent but the time shift and new cast members lost all the momentum that had been building up.

    Yeah I enjoyed the episode but didn't think it was great. Really don't think the massive time jump is helping there.

    Gutted that we won't see more of Lyonel or Harwen Strong, but I suppose that's Game of Thrones/HotD for you.

    I didn’t really like that episode at all until the finish.

    Felt like filler. Lots of talking. First episode I’ve picked my phone up.

    Anyone else just assume that the king was dead at the end of the last episode? Turns out the last 10 years have been kinder to him that they have been to Rhaenyra :giggle1:
    Also, * happened to Ser Criston for beating the groom’s boyfriend to death in the middle of a royal wedding? * all by the looks of things.
