After how GOT ended...I think its fair to say that it burnt a lot of fans...more so than any other show finale...like it was so universally trashed that once it was over it was like GoT never existed and people just immediately stopped talking about after a few weeks.

Expected * all from this new show and maybe that helped as I ended up actually enjoying it so interested to see where it goes.

Really good first episode. Making me so nostalgic for peak GoT.

    Love Paddy Considine.

I agree...there was a little scene acted out with Daemon and Viserys that seemed to try and put out the idea that Daemon was just a little bro who only wanted to be by his big bro King's side there was just a clever little beat acted by Matt Smith in all fairness when warns his bro about Otto taking what he wants.

But as with the GoTverse he's still a bit loose in the head and happy to go about culling the peasant herds

My good lady says it needs a bit of male tottie in it like a Kit Harington while I would like a new Emilia Clarke or Lena Headey (as well as more * and fighting of course)

This is actually no bad. Hopefully they white walkers * make an appearance. They'll probably keep that as a wee cliffhanger at the end of a series.

Aye just started it tonight, looks pretty good so far. Restarting GoT alongside it to jog my memory. Wee Emilia is something else.

For most part it seems like the show runners for this has taken on board the what happened with final few seasons of GoT.

They seem to have taken this back to the roots, kinda, and slowed the pacing down slightly and not have everything be such a massive time hopping cluster *

I like it. Agree it seems to have the same vibe from when GOT was at its best. Hopefully they make amends for the * finale.

Not impressed, I tuned out early in first episode

Feels like a Marvelized GoT, no compelling story to invest in - only nostalgia

Paddy Considine discussing marriage with a 12 year old is just wrong and uncomfortable to watch. Not sure why this needed to be included.

It's been turned into a meme on twitter taking the * out of Leonardo diCaprio for dumping his burds when they hit 25.

Yeah, I was uncomfortable with that and wondered why on Earth they'd risk something like that these days.

Different if it's dealing with historical reality - like Margaret Beaufort (The Red Queen) who was physically ruined by childbirth when only a child herself - but when it's just fantasy aping the medieval style, it comes across as a bit of a clanger.

    Probably get cancelled...

I'm surprised they've done that, knowing the kind of reaction it could get from audiences, Dany at the start of game of thrones was about 13 when she was married off to drogo, but they aged her and most of the younger cast up when they adapted it for tv to avoid anything dodgy.
