i think thats the problem though we get knocked out of europe play some great stuff domestically then forget how far off the pace we are. we will struggle as we are far too easy to score against .

If we beat Real at home that tops Barca in 2012 IMO

The 4-3 loss had a front 3 including Montgomery and Ajeti, we also had Soro starting. The defence wasn't settled either. Montgomery was left back against Leverkussen too. I think we now have a much more settled back line and a front line with a * ton of goals in it. Im confident the current team wins both home games from last season and to be honest Shakhtar are not as good as either after all their losses.

What's the ticket allocation going to be like for Shaktar in Warsaw. Will they get the usual home team amount or will it be closer to 50/50?

I suspect that if we take 4 points from the games against Shakhtar, we'll finish third. Maybe sneak a win at home to Leipzig as well. I'd be delighted with a third place finish, think Ange would fancy a crack at a run in the Europa - which we're just not going to do in the CL.

Anything less than finishing 2nd will be a disappointment I think.

Ange has coached in the Asian Champions League.

    Close enough?

If our first game does happen to be at home against the likes of Shaktar....it could really be a mood setter for our performance in the group.

For instance if we performance like we did against betis away but actually see out the win which hopefully we can do now, now that the squad and ange are even more accustomed to each other... fans could seriously make Parkhead a cauldron harking back to MON days.

Now for most part I don't expect anything less than an 8 goal aggregate loss to Real Madrid and we lose to them in both games.

Leipzig is the tough one...could honestly go either way its so hard to call. If we go out and get a few more faces...if the newbies here settle in a show their worth (Jenz doing so already I'd say, Saed Haskobanovic next hopefully) and it all clicks... 2nd might not actually be out of reach.

I was prior to the draw dead set on us getting a typical celtic cl group and thankfully all I got right is Real Madrid.

There is reason to hope now we could actually achieve something in Europe...it is likely to be in Europa we do it...but there is a good chance we can make an impression in the CL groups which I just honestly thought would be so far away.

    Exciting times ahead

Christ - not been in the UCL for years, last few efforts saw us get spanked by PSG and Barca. Now folk are calling anything other than top 2 in a group against Real Madrid, Donestk and Leipzig as disappointment.

Some of you guys expectations are massive.

I swear most Aussies suck at sarcasm, but this is brilliant!
