Just can’t see it happening at all.

He’ll be on a fortune and you have to question why he’s done next to nothing for years.

Would imagine he will try and stay on the EPL merry-go-round for as long as possible.

Maybe he's mates with Big Joe Hart.

I wouldn't be adverse to this.
Barkley is a very talented midfielder. He is big, strong
and has some engine on him.
I think he is exactly what we need in midfield.
He could make all the difference in the league and Europe for us.

Great rumour but surely no chance.

I don't think any EPL side will keep his wage at that level but they'll certainly offer more than us, obviously.

Can't imagine this will come to anything, but he would be brilliant here if his attitude was right.

We will no doubt be outmuscled financially by a EPL side. What we can offer him that the mentioned EPL clubs can't is some genuine outlook for league titles and CL nights. It's probably not enough, but it is something to concider for a player who's looking to get his career back on track and finally add a league title to his mantelpiece.

Question is, do we want Barkley in and maybe hamper the development of O'Reily and Turnbull?

£7.6m fee is set it. Would prefer a loan to buy if that’s the case but I still think it’s pie in sky

At this stage I would take Barkley. We did not get Souza, and Barkley is arguably even better.
I think he is made to measure for us.

Barkley is a luxury player, he doesn’t graft and in all honesty wouldn’t fit into our style of play.

He is lazy, does have that flash of brilliance but it only ever stood out at Everton where he had no pressure on him to perform week in and week out.

Done sweet * all at Chelsea bar collect a wage because he can’t cut it there and would be a pointless signing.

Be a complete waste of money.

Two different players. Two different positions.

Souza and Barkley are completely different players, one is a defensive holding type Souza and the other is attacking type Barkley.

He doesn’t fit into our system at all because he is not a grafter and there is absolutely nothing to suggest he would be good for us at all.

To play in a 3 man midfield he needs to be willing to work hard, Ross Barkley doesn’t have that in his locker.

    You think ?
I think Ross Barkley has the tools in his box to be a perfect central defensive midfielder for us.

Get him on loan with an option to buy and it’s a no brainer, has the potential to be the best player in the league. If he can’t stay fit or doesn’t suit the system then we say goodbye in a year.

Really feel this would be a similar signing as Ramsey was for the huns. Wouldn't have the impact many think he would to justify his wage.

He's completely different from Ramsey. Ramsey is finished as a footballer. His legs are gone.

Barkley is capable of playing at the top level with no fitness issues, but he has a questionable attitude.

Agree with this. If he did come here I think it would be with a point to prove and we would get the best of him. Seemed like Ramsey was just looking to get closer to home and was expecting a wee easy shift up here.
