If we can manage to keep ahold of him another couple of years he’ll go down as one of our best ever players 110%.

Still laugh at remembering some people saying he wouldn't be as big a loss as CCV.

    Both hugely important.

No question. He's going to have a season we talk about for years to come.

On a different planet just now. Either Benfica have an embarrassment of talent or they are dumb as *.

Either way it worked out perfectly for us.

If we keep him for another season after this one I'll be surprised. He'll already have teams watching him.

He already had teams watching him and chose Celtic. Seems as down to earth as they come, extremely humble and he’s genuinely taken the club and Glasgow to heart.

I reckon we’ll get another season after this.

Scary how good the boy can become.

I'm not a young guy by any means but Jota has all the attributes, attitude and talent to be one of the best I've seen in the hoops.

Disgustingly good. I’m at the point I want him to calm down so we can keep him for a while.

Gonna be some amount of teams taking notice already. Gonna be a real hard one to replace I just can’t see him being here after this season.

Sometimes to reach their potential a player has to be at the right club at the right time. That’s what we’re seeing here I think.

Right manager, right teammates, right support developing a guy that might’ve only been okay for Benfica into a superstar.

That move at 21-23 is so important for footballers.

So what I get from this...let Jota take his sweet time in life and jolly all around s the world when he wants

He'll only come 100× the player he was previous season

Early but what amount of money would need to be paid to let him go? We are talking about a special talent, so 40 million should not be to unrealistic imo.

His defensive contribution was pretty decent today...

With 15+ G/A in the league and some decent numbers in the CL this season we could be looking at a fee around £40m.

To compare, Arsenal bought Fabio Vieira for €35m after delivering 6G and 14A in the Portuguese league last season.

If Jota keeps himself injury free and form consistent he'll probably go with the Portuguese NT to Qatar and we can slap another £10m on a future transfer. All ifs and buts of course, but he must be on the radar for a spot in the national team now.

They always are to be fair. He grafts like *..

Would be massive if he did. Can you imagine what that would do for us in the Portuguese market, that is one of the best about for talent....to be honest we'll be appealing to a lot of academy player's by his form already....but that would take it to a new level..

Unfortunately I just don't think it'll happen here. Just get the feeling Portugal would be snobbery about the league he's in.....and have great player's in the wide position's to be fair..

100% going to come down to what he does in the Champions League to be selected for Portugal. If he tears teams apart and walks away with 5+ goal contributions against top teams and we get results, his domestic form will then count and he’ll be in the running to be selected.

If he looks like an exciting player but only has 2-4 contributions, they’ll just shrug the shoulders.
