Everything that Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou said to the media after Celtic's 3-1 Scottish Premiership win over Ross County in Dingwall...

Did you think at 1-1 that it was not going to go your way and it was not your day even though you were so dominant?

I think we showed last year there is the football aspect but also the resilience and determination to overcome any challenge. We haven’t lost that, that’s still there within this group. I think when you believe in something as strongly as these guys do, and they believe in each other, whatever impediment there is in front of us, they feel confident they can overcome. The game of football is funny. You can dominate a game and should be comfortably ahead, and then they get a corner and score, which is part of their strengths. You are looking for a reaction, and the reaction was first class.

It was a similar game to the match in December, wasn't it?

I thought our football was a lot better. I thought we really played well today. People can look at the result and think it was close but in really difficult conditions, I thought we controlled the game from start to finish. We minimised their threats - I said they are a big, strong team but they hardly got in our box apart from set-pieces - and even though they had a lot of bodies behind the ball we still found our openings, we were still really clever in the way we got in behind them. There was an edge to the game because of the late goal. I felt we were really in control of the game.

What did you make of Moritz Jenz's debut?

Moritz Jenz was great. He has been training well, he has fitted in really well. I keep saying these guys…you see them on weekends but I see them every day. The level of training is really high at the moment. Everyone is putting their best foot forward, which makes training pretty competitive, so if I have to make a change to the lineup for whatever reason I’m really confident about the guys coming in. Obviously they have to take their opportunity but they are ready for that opportunity. It was a different game for him today. There were a lot of contests he needed to win in the air, but he also had a lot of the ball and I really thought he showed some real good composure considering he has only been with us for a couple of weeks. It’s a great way for him to start his Celtic career.

You have tremendous depth in the squad now with Jenz and Abada both coming on it is such a strong squad, isn't it?

That’s what we are trying to build. That was our whole strategy behind our business in the transfer market, to make us a stranger unit. We got through last year, we gt through on fumes at times because we were relying on a core group of players. We got through last year on fumes at times because we were relying on a core group of players. At the moment we’re ok because we’re playing a game a week, but when we get to the end of the month the big games will be coming every three days and we need more than eleven players. I thought the guys who came on today were outstanding, all of them made contributions, and if we need to make a change in the team I feel really comfortable that anyone who is going to take that position is ready for it.”

Are the Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt partnership under threat now because no one is assured of place?

I don’t know, I get why people think that way, but I don’t think there is anyone here who is assured of anything. I’m not assured of anything. I’m sure when the first loss comes along everyone will be questioning me. We’re all out there every day trying to prove to ourselves that’s the kind of environment we want to have. There’s no one out there, even Cal, who can think they are guaranteed something. You are only guaranteed something if you perform at the levels you can. That’s how you get the best out of people. Bringing Moritz in helps Carl, it helps Cam, it helps Welshy be the best they can be because every day at training they are competing against each other. They are raising each other's level. If I just had two centre-backs and the level around them was low, then how are they going to improve? You can’t improve just in games, you have to improve every day. So, for all these guys, it’s about every day trying to be the best they can be and being ready for any opportunity that comes their way.

    Was Stephen Welsh ill?

Yeah, Stephen Welsh fell ill after training yesterday. He was a bit under the weather for a couple of days, but he trained, but then he just didn’t feel one hundred per cent. This early in the season there’s no point in us taking risks with players. We’ve got a good, healthy squad with players ready to come in. He should be alright.

Did Daizen Maeda have a knock?

He got a bit of a knock, but he’s ok, it’s nothing serious. He’ll be fine. I just felt that second half I knew we’d get a lot of the ball, we had the wind behind us, and Liel in those situations he gets on the end of things and can beat his men. I thought he could make an impact and he did.

Jota, another three assists, you can’t keep him out of the headlines?

He’s earning them in the right way, he’s working hard. He has joined this club permanently and he wants to be the best he can be and show people there’s another level to him. I see him every day in training, and he’s doing the extras and making sure he prepares himself well for every game. On a difficult day on a tight pitch with the wind, with those kinds of players, it takes the real special ones to be able to still find and create space for themselves. He was put under a lot of pressure any time he had the ball at his feet, he’d take people on and they committed quite a few fouls on him and others because of that. It was another strong performance from him.

I'd be interested in Ange answering the question: in what ways do you think you've improved as a manager since joining Celtic?

As a person who's watched his entire career, I think it's pretty clear he has improved. Just as he's remade Celtic to suit his vision, Celtic has remade him. Certainly Celtic has taken him to a whole new level and obliged him to deal with issues he'd never have confronted before, such as the money, the agents, but also the scrutiny and expectation of Glasgow. The football itself hasn't probably taught him a huge amount except for the level of players at his disposal and the day in day out of improving that level of team - he already had the football brain but now he gets to apply it in a massively holistic way.

I wonder what his take on it would be...

The question was whether he'd improved, not whether he's changed.

He never stops talking about improvement so surely that applies to him also.

His football philosophy hasn't changed - at least, not much.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou admits he is using his side's reduced schedule to maximum benefit in a bid to make it count when it matters most.

The Premiership champions have become three-game-a-week specialists but automatic qualification to the Champions League group stage has changed the rules this season. And the Celtic boss wants to make sure his stars are getting the hard yards in now ahead of looming manic schedule which will see his side play six group stage fixtures in European football's biggest event over an eight-week period.

And that's why Postecoglou is doing all he can to get his players ready now. The 56-year-old has revealed Celtic have bounce games scheduled to keep fringe men ticking over if they are need for first team duty. And the Parkhead boss knows that's vital with Moritz Jenz the latest signing to make a quick impact, as he netted during the 3-1 win over Ross County on Saturday.

    On new signings
"It always helps when they have a positive start, but there were others who didn't have a positive start last year and it didn't stop them having strong seasons, I think all those things, what's really important for us is players feel comfortable as quickly as possible, the environment certainly does that and the group of players we have here, anyone who is new is embraced and they try and get them feeling involved and comfortable.

"For Moritz, first competitive game, he handled himself really well, and I think that's because from the moment he arrived he feels comfortable in the environment."

    On resilience against Ross County
"It was a good performance. Difficult place. Conditions make it tricky up there and they’re a difficult team to play at home with the way they set up but I thought we handled it really well.

We stayed calm and played our football. Whether you score in the first minute or the last minute, it shouldn’t make a difference. Last year we got a few important results late in games. Even when the result was put to bed, we were still going late, there was never any thought of sort of playing out the last four, five minutes, it's just part of who we are.

"What we keep reiterating the boys, it is a game of 95 minutes and the first minute is just as important as the last. If we start reacting to the scoreboard, we would chop and change the way we play, our approach is always the same, the players have bought into that and they are bearing the fruits of that and when they get rewarded they want to do it more."

    On mindset
"The players, everyday, are working hard, irrespective of what kind of session it is or how long the session is, they just know one way, they get comfortable with that and approach the game the same way.

We are really big on having a strong mindset, about the football we want to play, that starts every day at training, that gets ingrained in the players and they take it out in the game, hopefully, it's not about thinking about it, it's just about doing it. I think that's where the players understand it, and work towards it, so on the weekend, irrespective of how it's going, are not searching for something that isn't there for them everyday."

    On start to season
"It's been ok, it's been solid, it was always going to be a different start for us after the pre-season we've had, we are obviously so used to playing three games a week but having a game on the weekend means our training model is different, we are still almost going through an extended pre-season with the work we're doing with the players. That's going to help us once the games do start.

"Our performances right through pre-season were solid and that's continued into the first two games. The first game I thought there was some good stuff, I thought there was some stuff we could have done better but there was progression in the second game, the way we controlled it, it's been a decent start.

"It's like anything, it's beneficial if we use it right, otherwise it's a waste, for us we have been planning this for a quite well. It gives an opportunity, once the games start we know are not going to get a lot of time to do it, now is the time to bed it down. We have a couple of bounce games organised for the guys who haven't played, so when we need to throw them in we're match ready. You've seen in the first two games, we have had injuries and illnesses, I want to put them in knowing they are ready."

    On Kilmarnock

Every week a different challenge and this will be a different one, they got promoted last year, Derek did a good job with them, they'll be looking forward to these fixtures, seeing whether they can disrupt us, stop us, playing at their venue is another challenge, an artificial surface, it affects our game, certainly.

As I said last week, whatever the challenge is, the answer lies within our football, as long as we concentrate on playing in our brand of football, and believing it, we will be hard to stop."

Watching Jota for us, the fact he had no other ambitions but to be here this year, is one of the biggest compliments Ange could get.

And first game of the season, after he scores a screamer, he tells him to be better. Next game he sets up 3 goals.

That is a microcosm of his management ability. We have never been as lucky as we were when we ended up with Ange.

Looks like Ange may be getting some phone calls from EPL clubs seeking to sign Juranovic before the September deadline.

I would advise Josip to stay at Celtic. Those teams have many players on their books and Juranovic will struggle to get consistent game time given the internal politics in those clubs. At Celtic he gets regular game time and with the World Cup coming up and the CL games in Europe this season he will be in the public eye.

His value will be even higher by the end of this year and if he does go to another club then he can negotiate a better deal for himself. We would not want him to leave Celtic, but we need to be realistic and understand that players have ambitions to do well financially in their careers as well.

Do not return from a challenge having not given everything.

Seek out intense competition, you will push yourself much harder.

Surround yourself with people who are ruthlessly devoted to becoming their greatest selves.

Partake in structured, organised, and well respected training programs, ensuring you see them through to the finish.

    Ange Postecoglou ? Maybe.

Some of the rules/instructions learnt by Spartan warriors circa 445 BC.

Which is disappointing, and a bit strange, he used Bitton plenty of times last season, we haven't really replaced him.

It could happen i suppose, but I doubt it..

Disappointing for me as well. We're still a bit too lightweight and one paced in the middle..

If McGregor gets an injury we're still completely *..

Relying on quality player's like Hatate and O'Riley but who haven't done it over a gruelling season. I like Turnbull as well but if it were him and O'Riley in the middle we wouldn't be overruning anyone in Europe with our style and how Ange wants to play. So doesn't make sense..

Same with Mooy, Ideguchi or McCarthy..

No doubt fine for a lot of domestic game's but someone like a Souza would've transformed us..

Its no coincidence that our only away win in the EL last year came when Bitton started DM for us against Ferencvaros. He also started DM for us away vs Leverkusen and we were winning 2-1 until he came off.

I wasn't even a massive fan of him but he did offer us something in those games. We need a DM, Mooy pretending to be one ain't gonna cut it (same with McGregor).
