Patterson is miles ahead of Ramsey and likely both be playing * all games next season. Game time is the only thing Ramsey has above Patterson at the moment anyway

6 out of 36 apparently. Aye no secret I’d have started Ralston definitely but Hickey’s been great in Italy this year and has played there, it was stupid tactically though because he doesn’t hold the width when he plays that role.

    Which Clarke relies on.

Word is that the medical department have had to come up with a special strength training program for all of our attacking players, so they can withstand the strain of this glorious * jumping on the back of whoever it is who scores.

Since breaking up after the Trophy Day at the end of last season, Anthony Ralston has experienced a mix of work and fun during his summer period.

Earning a few more caps to his collection with the Scotland national team, he also notched his first international goal in a home win over Armenia before heading off on holiday with his family.

The summer break is over now as the Bhoys get to work at the pre-season training camp in Austria, and after an intense double session on day one, the 23-year-old is fully focused on coming back stronger this campaign.

Speaking exclusively to Celtic TV, Anthony Ralston said: “It’s been tough, it’s been hard, but it’s been good.

We are implementing our standards again of where we finished last season and we are looking at where we want to start to improve.

'This is exactly what the gaffer has drilled into us from day one. We all know what’s expected here at this club so we are just all ready to go.'

“It's just about putting the work in. The way training is laid out for us is to improve and get everything in place with our fitness and technically so that when that first game of the season comes round we’re ready to go.

“We go straight into a busy schedule so we need to be in top form and in top physical shape as well.”

While the head is now firmly down as the workload starts to intensify, it would be remiss to not look back on Ralston’s summer with Scotland.

Having earned his first cap back in November, he then went on to make his first start in June’s Nations League victory over Armenia, becoming the first Celt to score on his full Scotland debut in 39 years.

Speaking about the goal, he said: “It was nice to get away with Scotland and have a few weeks of training there and a few games.

“Scoring my first goal was a proud moment for myself and my family. Then I got a wee bit of a break after that and I got a bit of time with my family, I got away with my daughter and just had a wee break which was nice.”

Tony got a knock yesterday and just wasn’t 100 percent for today so we erred on the side of caution,” he said. “He should be fine for Wednesday.

Taylor and Ralston are turning into a bit of a double act.

Nice to see them not taking it seriously at all.

Great start to the season. That run for the 3rd goal was excellent. Particularly after just having taken a bad tackle 2 minutes before.
