Had there’re been upcoming qualifiers I would be worried but no CL games til September. We will have replacements by then.

Yeah for me, the UCL group entry is a * send in so many ways.

I am not at all worried about Julien leaving. I firmly believe in Ange and think he has something else on the go, to have allowed this to go through.
Julien gave us some great moments and I do think he will be missed, we just need to go replace him with a peak Julien calibre player.

If he's now as * as the club must think he is, he's surely going to get shown up in the Bundesliga, so Schalke so won't take up option to buy

Or If he's good enough for Schalke would it not be worth keeping him, atleast until we have actually secured another signing?

Whether it's good enough or not seems to be fairly irrelevant. If Ange doesn't want you or you don't fit in to his thinking you don't hang around. No messing around in moving scales jullien and to a lesser extent Montgomery on

Then again, you also think Shved is the second coming of Arjen Robben and Karamoko is the best winger in the league.

Take anything you say with a bucket of salt.

Hopefully means a CB is soon in the door.

I'd argue we need two. But Ange likes Welsh.

Would rather it was a permanent as I don’t trust Schalke to pay the fee at the end of the deal.

Hopefully see his replacement materialise over the next few days.

Jullien is in serious trouble, he looked like he was on roller blades in that cup game, he mobility was gone

If he liked welsh, he would have played him. Incidentally, I think CCv and Starfelt could have been rotated with Welsh and Jullien. These two fix each other's weaknesses, and look good enough for typical SPFL teams.

Counts for very little if you can't play

Yeah no rush now but I'd prefer we had someone doing a full pre-season with us rather than a last minute job.. I'm sure Ange knew CJ was offski and hopefully we have someone lined up...

Are you maybe getting Schalke mixed up with another set of huns?

Welsh played more games last season than in any other season of his professional career thus far.

    Nope.

Schalke loaned Itakura last season and didn’t buy him even though he performed well and helped them get promoted.

Makes me doubt they’ll pay up for a 30 year old Jullien this time next year.

Will probably depend on them staying up next year.

Think if they stay up next year, they’ll have a lot more money. Especially if Julien goes there and does very well, something cheap like €3m wouldn’t be out of their price rage.

It also puts Julien in the shop window. If he does well and Schalke can’t afford him, then someone in Germany may be happy to take a chance on him at €3m.

Similar to what happened with Itakura. Man city loaned him out, they wanted €4m for him. Schalke can’t afford him but Mochengladbach were apparently close to signing him for the same fee. Being in the shop window goes a long way.
