Lightyear was dull as Taz said. Just a forgettable film.

Hustle was a fun watch though.

Jerry and Marge Go Large - 4/10 Not sure what I was expecting from this. Thought it might have been a decent dark comedy or something but it was cheesy as *. Couple of mildly amusing moments and the overall story its based on is cool but found the film pretty tedious. I like Bryan Cranston as well.

Watched A Time to Kill last night.
Found it really gripping and emotional and it has such a good cast.
Want to read the book now.

As you liked this, there were a bunch of John Grisham books that were made into movies, that also are worth checking out and you'd probably like also. The Client, Runaway Jury, Pelican Brief, The Firm, Rainmaker, The Gingerbread Man, The Chamber etc. :50:

Started watching the new Top Gun on the firestick but got bored and switched it off. Didn't like the first one either so not sure why I thought I would enjoy this.

    Black Phone

Reminiscent of other horror/thrillers, was pretty well made, but not as creepy scary as I had anticipated. Still it does feel a bit Stranger Things inspired (although 70s rather than 80's) and overall it works for what it is.

    All the Best, Leo Grande

Decent little flick, about an older woman and a younger gigalo over the course of 4 'meetings'. Some interesting takes on maturing, rediscovering sexuality and even positive body self image, with a few genuinely funny moments along the way, the acting and writing is both done well, however, I don't know if it was originally written for the stage or screen, but it definitely feels as though it would fit better as a stage play rather than a film.

    Elvis

For a film that is 2hrs 40min long, there parts of this that were well done, and some that left a bit to be desired. Really feels all a bit uneven, and while it has it's faults, but what it does well, it does really well. And for as monsterous and manipulative as Col Parker was, it really brushed over some pretty important parts in Elvis' life and career, but worth checking out overall.

My pers fav Tarantino movie. I do like them all (well, not super keen on the Kill Bills, compared to the others), but Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Jackie Brown are the three have sat through most often, just dig every character in Jackie Brown, as I guess am a bit of Elmore Leonard (Get Shorty, Out of Sight, Life of Crime, 3:10 to Yuma etc) fan also, so ticks both those boxes. :50:

Its a very underrated Tarantino film. I read just there that he said it’s a film that’s better on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th viewing because you’re not sitting waiting for the plot to move on and you’re able to just enjoy the characters and the scenes for what they are. Thought that summed what’s good about it up quite well.

As it happens, the original director of Dr Strange 2 who was punted took the reigns of The Black Phone, which was pretty well made and directed for what it is. Think he had a point to prove. Then again didn't really like the first Dr Strange, so take of that what one will, lol.

Watched Elvis. Despite being a fan of his music I didn’t really know much of the back story, so quite enjoyed it. Would give it a 7.5/10.

    CODA

Finally caught up with this and it's a solid coming of age flick, worth checking out, kind of predictable story but it's the characters - especially the family itself - that makes it worth while. Although really not sure that it deserved Best Picture Oscar. Having sat through all of them all now, for mine Belfast remains my pick as the best from the 10 nominees of last year.

I really enjoyed CODA. Didn't realise it was an oscar winner though. Loved the music in it and the performances. Not seen Belfast yet.

An hour into Jurassic World Dominion, * torture. Not my choice, would be getting abandoned if it were up to me. Just read it's just shy of 2 and a half hours as well * sake.

    Thor: Love and Thunder

Wasn't as into this one as Ragnarok. Also disregard all the trailers that feature the Guardians of the Galaxy characters, as they are lucky to have more than a line or two each at most and are entirely out of it in the first 10min or so. While it was better than the first 2 Thor films (was a pretty low bar to be fair), and it's fine for what it is as a MCU entry, but overall my least favourite Taika Waititi film to date.
