    Still wild seeing it written out as £400k a year. Just shows how used to it we are now with footballers. Even the most average of players able to become millionaires within a few years of a contract.

    He'd have been on buttons when we signed him. We don't half waste some amount of money.

    Ismaila Soro is poised to leave Celtic.

    The Ivorian, 24, has failed to establish himself at Parkhead after his move in 2020 from Bnei Yehuda. A loan move is now on the cards and Football Scotland understands it is Partizan who are looking to secure his signature for the season ahead. The Serbian giants finished second in the league behind Red Star Belgrade last term.


    Soro featured just 19 times as Celts won the Premiership last season with the majority of those appearances from the bench. The midfielder is not in Ange Postecoglou's plans as the Australian manager looks to bring in another midfielder. Vinicius Souza remains a top target for the club who have lost Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic this summer but there remains question marks over the Brazilian's desire to join Scottish football. It is not yet known whether the loan switch will have a purchase option but it is likely Soro has played his last game for the club.



    He did have opportunities to play under Neil Lennon but since the former manager's departure, minutes have been hard to come by.




    Soro as we exclusively told at the time, was previously nearing a move to Fortuna Sittard in the Eredivisie but paperwork scuppered that deal.

    Postecoglou said at the time: "With guys like Soro it’s about trying to help them and if they get opportunities elsewhere to try and facilitate that.




    There was a complication with Holland because unfortunately, he needed to have a work permit sorted for us to do a deal yesterday. That didn’t happen.”
