    Celtic are closing in on Alexandro Bernabei of Lanus.

    The left-back, 21, has been the subject of interest from Hoops scouts for a while and the club are hoping to sort a deal.




    Ange Postecoglou has been looking for a defender to rival Greg Taylor on the left-hand side.

    Celts were rumoured to be monitoring his teammate Julian Aude but it’s Bernabei who interesting the Scottish champions.

    He made 24 appearances and provided two assists for Lanus in the Primera Division this season.

    The defender has been capped at U19 level for his country and is now set for a move to Europe.


    Postecoglou has been searching for a new left back and Celtic's scouting team have watched numerous over recent months


    Hammarby left back Mohanad Jeahze and Francisco Ortega of Velez Starfield have also been closely watched.




    But the Premiership champions are now close to the signing of Bernabei and the 21-year-old could arrive in Glasgow in the coming days.

    The Hoops made their first signing of the summer earlier today when Cameron Carter-Vickers completed a permanent switch toCeltic Park.
