    McGregor was a fantastic 6 last year but I would really like us to transition into McGregor at 8 and finding a 6 like this lad. If we want to do well in Europe, we need to learn to play with a top class 6, even against the mince, to form proper partnerships and as you and others have stated to improve our play out from the back.

    That's the beauty of having actual squad depth for once. This guy (or whichever other Number 6 we bring it) would be perfect for games against the huns, the diets, hibs, aberdeen etc, where-as Hatate/Turnbull can be used instead against the likes of Ross County, Motherwell, St Johnstone etc.

    I forgot about Edouard, but the rest is going back very far.

    We’ve had other loans with (alleged) options to buy who have impressed, only to go back to their parent club.

    2 year loan pls.

    Realistically if he's gid that's all we'd have him for before punting him. Only difference is we don't get the financial reward but similarly it would take £10m + to secure him which is a risk. So it's a difficult one to weigh up.

    He looks quality though.

    Ange out if this doesn't happen IMO. Hh.

    Looks a player.

    Cant see it being permanent if they are after in the region of €9m for him.

    The potential fees for Jota and CCV are already quite hefty and others areas of the squad require investment also.

    My only apprehension would be we dont have a good running history with Brazilian players at the club. A loan with an option to buy would be the best move to see how he would settle and adapt.

    I never get my hopes up with transfer rumours, the ones that we get linked that I actually want it usually turns out we were never even looking at them in the first place.

    So I really don't want us to sign this guy...

    I understand where people are coming from regarding specific loans where the player is out of reach, but CDM is a position we've not properly replaced since Wanyama left.

    I would be completely fine if we used the loan market for a CB, but I feel we need a permanent CDM in this summer. Not saying I would be disappointed if we got this guy on loan, as he looks perfect, but I'd like some long term stability.

    or as @Mr Shelby said, A 2 year loan would be perfect.

    Not that far to be fair, still successful loan to buys.

    We have had very few loan to buys and plenty of loan deals.

    Roberts and Deynayer (can’t mind his spelling) in recent times had no loan to buys but done well.

    Pretty much the rest have been * and they didn’t have loan to buys either.
