A few from midweek at Portavade and Balisodare. I spent a couple of hours walking the shoreline at Portavade on Tuesday morning, it was quiet enough but i managed to get a few shots of the local birdlife, I watched the Gannets far out in the estuary diving for their breakfast, i'd love to see them from a bit closer but i'll take what i got for now, i called in to the viewpoint in Balisodare on the way home and got some nice shots of a Cormorant coming in to land.

Thanks Pete and John, aye John it's a great sight, never knew they were so acrobatic, they were twisting mid dive as if to get the perfect angle to enter the water.

I had a big Family get together yesterday and we had KFC . So I put some of the leftovers out on my verge in the back garden for the badgers and foxes.
At 10.30pm a big local cat was hovering around but as i predicted to myself it was soon chased off by a Badger which the Then was more than delighted to crunch away:84:
I have more leftovers in the Fridge so hopefully I get a Photo tonight or at least more cool action.
This morning as I was putting out the refuse 3 Siskin chirped as they flew over my house.

I found this fantastic piece of engineering in my shed, i don't know how long it was there but the wasp was still busy working on it, i felt bad moving it, but it was in my lean to greenhouse which is attached to the house and takes in three windows so it just couldn't remain there, i waited until Mr Wasp was gone and took it down, the Wasp came back and seemed a bit frantic that it was gone, I wouldn't have blamed him if he stung me in the * after all the work he must have put in to make it, hopefully he went and built another somewhere.

    Maxi Mini Anemone ^

Sea anemones are a group of predatory marine animals of the order Actiniaria. Because of their colourful appearance, they are named after the anemone, a terrestrial flowering plant. They come in all shapes and forms but as pretty as they look they are the boss of the reefs. Best admired from a distance. I feed them mysis shrimp a few times a week. Fascinating watching them sting their prey and capture their meal.

neon green Recordea Mushroom- the bubbles on its flesh gives it a larger surface area for absorbing light and amino acids from the water.

^ neon green Cabbage coral , part of the leather family of soft corals. These coral are not that popular in the reefing world due to the tannins they can release when stressed, depending on what other corals you have in your tank these sometimes are best kept away. I’ve learnt the hard way and this particular coral has killed off some of my others. Essentially chemical warfare but normally this comes out on top

Yesterday was the third time I saw a wildcat close to where I live (Falkirk area). They are massive compared to house cats. It was carrying what looked to be a squirrel or something in its mouth but it wouldnt let me near it and as soon as I got close it ran away. Ive looked these wildacts up because I didnt know or believe that they lived in Scotland and apparantly they do, but they are endangered species and live in the Highlands. Well there must be a community of them down here cause like I said thats the third time Ive saw one while out walking. They are big and I dont know if they would attack humans

They would never attack a Human but would quite rightly defend themselves if a Human man handled one. A big shame as the vast majority are now mixed in breed with Feral and Domestic Cats. Very few 100% Scottish Wild Cats left but seeing a near full breed is still something special:50:

PS I saw a huge approx 80% Full breed in the Cairngorms National Park back in 2014, he was huge!!

Dozens and Dozens of different species of Bees in my garden this time of year especially on the Biggest Bush:84:

Also out this morning on my local patch I saw a sunbathing Fox and a cool Broad Bodied Chaser, a cool Dragonfly Species that I failed to see last year so that created a broad smile as i told Ruby Roo:49:
