I was put off making carbonara for years as I thought it would be hard to do, it's actually one of the easiest things you can make. And so good as well.

Chinese , was revolting , that's 4 different places now in last few months , the local one used to be good but rotten now.

Chow mein drier than a hun in seville

    Beef was like leather

Salt and pepper chicken baws burnt to a crisp

    Plus no prawn crackers

Back to the Indians I go

Was in Rome a few years back and went into a restaurant which was run by 2 Americans and got a carbonara, so this plate of spaghetti with cream came out and I sent it straight back, the owner came out and asked what the problem was and I told him you don’t make carbonara with cream but with eggs, the American smiled and said they only make it that way for the tourists and quickly had a plate of real carbonara in front of me 10mins later. One of the best things I’ve ever tasted.

Aye there's no way it's supposed to have cream in it. That's an American thing. In fact the 'italian' food that they eat in America does not exist in Italy. There is no veal parmesan or spaghetti and meatballs.

But it's the same in this country. None of the things we order in the Chinese or Indian takeaways are actually eaten in China or India. Apparently chicken tikka masala was invented in Glasgow
