This probably won’t take off but I have been immersed in Velvet Underground tonight not for the first time. I’m once again reminded how much I * hate Nico. Like cannot stand her stupid whiny voice and immediately skip her tracks.

Anything about your favourite bands you would change if you could?

Coldplay used to be excellent. To be fair my favourite gig of theirs is pretty all I listen to now when the notion for Coldplay takes me. Live at the BBC. At the release of their 3rd album I think? Brilliant gig.

Muse, excellent first few albums then they stuffed their heads so far up their own * they started coming out with loads of pretentious *. I * hate it when bands change what made them so good in the first place:31:

Lou Reed singing I’ll be your mirror and John Cale doing Femme Fatale and All Tommorows Parties on live Redux were excellent.

Probably the thing that annoys me most about bands I like is they generally lose it. Most, not all lose their way after 5 or 6 albums.

Was a big fan of early Biffy Clyro, then they went all commercial and can't stand them now..

Black holes and Revelations was their peak for me, never bothered with them after that.

Rage Against the Machine...started raging for the machine and it absolutely destroyed my love of Killing in the Name. Now whenever I hear that song, I just think sell outs.

I really liked Muse when they first came onto the scene but they changed their whole direction and I quickly went right off them. Honestly don't know why bands decide to change their style of music if they have found success with it. It was the same with my hero David Bowie when he done all the Tin Machine stuff

Don't feel any hate about this but it's devastating that Scott Hutchinson took his own life and left family behind.

Also annoying how it takes Tool about 10 years to write and release an album.

I'd like to add Kings of Leon to this, youth and young manhood was a great album but as they went on they became increasingly more "radio friendly". I'll pass thanks :38:

Absolutely convinced Matt getting married and becoming happy ruined Muse. His bitter angry rants of the first few albums were golden. :giggle1:

Couldn’t agree more. First two albums were amazing, third had some crackers but also a flavour of what was to come.

Just realised you posted the Muse thing as well. Me and you would get along well :giggle1:

Did they not do something like refuse to play their big hits from Only By the Night at a festival because they didn’t like the crowd asking for them or something like that?

Thought that was a bit poor to be honest.

Speaks of the snobbery of some musicians/music fans.

IDLES — Instrumentation is amazing but the lyrics are cheesy and cringe. They come across as very "middle-class boy wanting to be working-class." Appropriation isn't something that's really a part of my lexicon, but it seems very apt for the lead singer.

    Parquet Courts — American.

Nico — Racist bohemian, this part of her often goes unnoticed for whatever reason.

Idles were great up to a point. Sold out like the rest though.

I don't listen to anything beyond the first two albums, to be honest.
