Yea was reading and seen he was picked up from boreham wood.

Sadly in england inflated prices are the norm, wood just went to newcastle for £25m

Wow! It’s pretty much £15m-£25m for a championship striker, so I guess that’s about right for a proven striker. Smart business in respects to he’ll score plenty in the championship if they go down and I can’t see him pushing for a move if that’s the case.

Yeah Huddersfield plucked him from Boreham Wood, but I think he had been at West Ham before that. One of those rare ones who dropped down to get game time to try climb back up. Quite a good character too. Just a shame he’s out, or going out, of our price range.

Given we missed out on McGree, it would be worth having a look at Andras Schafer playing with Bayo’s old team DAC in Slovakia.

He is a 22 year old centre midfielder, a full international with Hungary and done well at the Euro’s in the summer against Portugal, France and Germany. 15 caps and 3 goals.

Domestically he went to Serie A as a really young player and it didn’t quite work at Genoa but has really found form at International and in Slovakia and Hungary previously.

His strengths are his stamina and work rate, he is an all rounder, comfortable of either foot and would suit an Ange team. He isn’t playmaker really but more like an Armstrong type player. Capable of going beyond the strikers and also finishing from the edge of the box.

He wouldn’t cost much more than £2m and would have a potential upside as he is still young and a full international.

I also think Dembo Darboe, would be worth a go as a third choice striker if we sell Ajeti. Gambian forward playing in Belarus, scoring at around a goal a game. A poor standard but the guy is a beast, he’s strong, fast has good feet and scores all sort of goals. He was playing attacking midfield when he first came to Europe but since switching to striker he’s been scoring for fun. He wouldn’t cost more than £1-1.5m with a big upside if it worked out.

Probably even more unrealistic than Hannes Wolf but my dream signing would be Enis Bardhi.

Would be absolutely perfect for what Ange is trying to build here, honestly think he'd have a similar impact to Lubo or Naka. In league games where we need more creativity or that moment of magic he'd be far better suited than Abada. And better suited than Rogic in Europe when we need more legs and a bigger shift defensively.

Plus he's a proper set piece specialist that we desperately lack.

26 and out of contract at Levante in the summer, who only won their first game of the season last week. Was being linked to the likes of Fiorentina and Arsenal 18 months ago but had a really poor 20/21 and his form has only recently picked up. Would take a big outlay, probably similar to signing Jota permanently, but like him he'd pay for it in no time.

In the markets Ange mentioned before
a good alternative to Riley McGree would be Lee Dong Gyeong, 24 year old, left footed attacking midfielder who is a full international for South Korea. He had a strong second half of the season in Korea, is a strong finisher of either foot and has a good knack of running beyond the forwards to chip in with goals.

Another CM who is still a playmaker but plays a bit deeper is 22 year old Joe Bell at Viking in Norway but is a New Zealand international. He is just 22 but had 1 goal and 8 assists from 27 games, the second most effective defensive and second most creative player in the Eliteserien despite playing in a deeper role. He would add a bit of steal while still having creative ability. He actually outperformed Berg in the league in terms of his performance stats overall although Berg was more accurate with his passing. He isn’t the quickest over the ground but has good stamina and work rate. Probably be better suited to playing as the deepest player so we have a lot of players there but worth keeping an eye on as his deal is up in December this year.

Already in Europe playing in the Bundesliga with Arm. Biefield is Masaya Okugawa. He is 25 and came through at Salzburg before being sold for less than £1m to Germany, he is very quick comfortable on either foot and a good dribbler. He has hit a rich vein of form recently scoring 7 in 18 so far this year in the Bundesliga. He can play of either wing or through the middle as an attacking midfielder.

If you had to pick one it would probably be Ryo Hatsuse from Kyogo’s old team Vissel Kobe. Similar age at 24 to the three new guys, is very comfortable using either foot so good to invert as well. 6 assists in 33 games last year.

We should have went for Koki Machida whose a left sided centre back from Kashima Antlers, is 6’3, left footed decent on the ball and good in the air in both boxes. He went to that team connected to Brighton in Belgium that are top of the league on loan. For the rest of the season but don’t know if they are to buy him.

Another whose situation is worth keeping an eye on is Hatate’s old team mate Ao Tanaka, he’s a cracking box to box CM, is a good build at 6 ft and on loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf in Bundesliga 2. They have an option to buy but are only mid table in that league so no chance of going back up . He would be some player here in Ange’s team.

I reckon we will have an eye on this lad. 19 years old. CM so not a priority now but he's just signed with Yokohama and Kevin Muscat.

Looks like an excellent ball winning midfielder with an eye for a forward pass.

Looks like a mix of Kante and Maradona, with a pinch of Kayal.

See how they keep getting linked with Skov Olsen, if Jota isn’t signing permanently he would be a very good alternative.

At around £5m or even a loan to buy he would be good value. It hasn’t happened for him in Italy at Bologna, mainly down to the role he’s being asked to play. In Ange’s 4-3-3 he would be excellent on the left or right and add a physical presence to our front line.

Would love Jota left and Skov Olsen right or Ola Solbakken left who is a similar player.

See we are getting linked to a LB from the Mexican league. Had a bit of a look at some of the LB’s, thought this guy looked like a LB Juranovic clone, with maybe a bit more threat in the final third.

Salvador Reyes, 23yo has 4 goals 4 assists from 21. He has played 11 as LW 8 as LB and the rest in midfield. Seems as Ange player who can play multiple positions. Even pops up on the right in the video below.

Note: this isn’t the one we are being linked with.

A couple of wingers on the edge of the senior Uruguay national team squad both dribblers and score and assist regularly. Both have preferential contract situations

One is Brian Ocampo, 22 year old from Nacional

Second is Agustin Canobbio, 23 year old from Penarol

Both look exciting players Canobbio is a free agent currently. Both have played in the Copa Sudamerica which helps towards a work permit as well as recent call ups. Ocampo would cost about £2-3m due to signing an extension so his team get something for him.

I'd love us to sign him tbh, a big phyiscal winger who could play ST if required.

But for £5m we won't spend it on someone who isn't guaranteed to start.

I think he would be though seen as first choice option. Anyway looks like he is off to Brugge.

I just think the club bound to have an incline if we have any chance of Jota signing or not. If there is a deal there for him to sign and he hasn’t by around the end of the window, I don’t think he will.

Therefore that’s £6-6.5m the club was prepared to spend to address a position that has been an issue since Scott Sinclair’s form dipped at the end of his second season. So some of that should be committed to a Jota replacement. If we want to win the league having Jota still here for 6 months you could buy another player that’s flexible between wings and have both of them for the rest of this season to help get the job done.

It might be worth looking at Charles-Cook as Ross County. Top scorer in the league and is by far their best player, wouldn't cost any more than 600k I'd think and he's be another option off the bench.

I still do not understand how we do not sign Benjamin Siegrist the Dundee United keeper he has been a standout for a long time in our league he has been brilliant for years for them and would be ideal if our keeper picked up an injury as Scott Bain is not the answer we need a top class back up and he would not be to expensive.

The boys having some season and deal is up at the end of it. Obviously never done it previously in his career but for that sort of price could do a lot worse than bring someone in that’s scoring regularly. He looked lively against us at Celtic Park earlier this year.

We definitely need another option on the wing, with Forrest’s current form it’s only really Jota and Abada we have. Particularly given Kyogo could be out for a good bit so Maeda plays through the middle.

I would love us to go for Dany Mota at Monza,
Played in same U21 team for Portugal as Jota and is really finding form the last couple of years in Serie B but feel he has the talent to play at a higher level. Good goal scoring record for the Portugal 21’s too and his deal is up in the summer. He can play across the front three positions but is fairly physical and has good pace.

Also on a side note a player I suggested before Njegos Petrovic of Red Star joined Granada for £1.35m today. That is a steal, he would have been a very good midfield option for us, strong player, with good passing range and experience in the champions league despite only being 22. Also hard worker and presser that can play either as a 6 or 8.
