He needs first team football regardless. For me if he was to knock them back and doesn’t move this window it shows lack of character in my opinion.

He is nowhere near the first team in relation to getting a game and his development is stalling.

The only way he will develop is playing football and not sitting on a bench or not even named as a sub.

Yeah I was all for it until I remembered they have Griffiths, Cummings, Adam, McGowan etc.

Ned central. Doubt it’s a very professional
    environment.

Should be going to a team with similar philosophy as us. We should have as many relationships with clubs with similar philosophies

I can imagine them wanting shift of Griffiths and then attempting to pay less for him has soured things.

I actually think, out of all the young players we've signed from down south, he's by far the most likely to make it.

Has some really good attributes. He's strong and fairly quick, and is good with the ball. Still raw in some aspects but I think if he gets a good loan move for the next 6 months he'll be in about the first team next year.

Can also understand him being apprehensive about going to Dundee, any other SPL club and I'd be all for it.

It's not just a case of going anywhere for 6 months and playing games. He won't just develop into the standard required because he's playing games. It needs to be the right club and the right environment. I thought Liam Shaw to Motherwell, for example, is a great fit with their style of play. Dundee given how they play and where they are as a club and as an environment? Can see why he isn't big on this.

What if Hearts take him, that's *if* the huns stump up the cash for Soutter early.

Hearts would be good regardless, strengthens them against the huns but not against us.

I don't think hearts would want our players on loan though for that sort of reasoning

I’d like him to stay in Scotland. Dundee United would be my preference over Dundee. I think the lad has potential to be good back up in defence. Ralston, CCV, Starfelt, Jullien, Juranovic, Taylor, Welsh, Urhoghide and that’s not too shabby for us.

That would be a much better opportunity than Dundee to be honest.

He will go out on loan, he’s probably just hoping for a better offer before the end and of the window.

So sitting on his * not playing for 6 months is going to be any better?

Dundee or another team he needs first team football.

For me he needs to go somewhere that can be defensively organised to learn proper positional sense.

As you say the boy is an out an out athlete, he’s quick, he’s strong and has all the attributes to be a dominant centre back but he is all over the place positionally.

I know it’s a different style to how we play but it helped Ajer along going to a team who sat in and had a lot of defending to do, I think a similar move could work well for him, therefore a St Mirren, St Johnstone or the abomination of a park aside even a Livingston would be better than Dundee.

No but you don't just shift him out to the first club that comes calling if it isn't a good fit just because he might play games.

Dundee is not what he needs.

Even drop a division with a team playing well.
Dundee are total pish. Defense is abysmal.
I'd rather he went to Motherwell, utd, maybe even aberdeen.

Maybe a * team would benefit him. A team that plays a disciplined defensive game might just be the thing he needs to smarten up a bit. Has great attributes physically, just needs to learn the game.

Depends where we see his future though. If it's as a right back then a more attacking team would be better for him but he could be moulded into a centre back at a team that are on the back foot a lot.
