I'm sure there are players available within the budget that would do a better job than CalMac in Europe, so I don't consider that unrealistic tbh.

As for what players specifically, that's the scouting departments job to find those players

I think it's because you keep repeating it.

 

Hundred percent agree on those three. I was thinking about Ledley the other day thinking he was worth more to us than any transfer fee we would've got for him. Same goes for McGregor.

 

It’s usually in the Scotland thread we talk about it but if McGregor was from any other country he’d be spoken about much differently and appreciated much more.


The simple fact is that a sizeable number of Scottish football fans are absolutely clueless when it comes to football and only judge a players ability on how hard he kicks the oppositon, how much he shouts and how many headers he wins.

 

Remember folk wanted rid of him last season . Absolute dafties.

There’s a reason he plays 60/70 games a season and plays every minute for both Celtic and Scotland, both teams are noticeably much worse without him.

We couldn’t afford to replace him with a player of equal quality, he’s one of the best all around footballers we’ve produced in donkeys, he had a few shockers last year but so did every other player in the team.

Glad he’s back to consistently putting in performances we know he’s capable of and becoming a brilliant captain as well.

 

I’m not really sure why I’m engaging here, but McGregor has been an absolute standout in multiple Scotland games in qualifiers and the Euros and Celtic European games in the past few months. He is the best player in or from Scotland.

I don’t know why anyone thought he wasn’t captain material. Probably because in Scotland we’re backwards and think only tacklers can be captains.

 

Thought him and Rogic were the only players who looked like playing at any sort of high tempo. We're * if those two aren't in the team imo (barring Thursday of course )
