I think a lot of needless debate and confusion comes from when people say, “Give him until January”, it sounds like they’re saying they would give him that regardless.

In actual fact what they mean is they think he will start winning soon.

If he loses the next 3 games for example, everyone will want him sacked, so anyone saying, “Give him until January” at the moment don’t really mean that.

The main question is, after how many losses do you say enough is enough. For me, if he loses tomorrow then he’s on his final chance and obviously if he can go on a winning run he would get leeway back as expected.

This is what I’m trying to say in the post above.

What’s everyone’s limit? ..because saying an arbitrary month as though results don’t matter makes zero sense.

It depends on the form mate. If the next 8 games we win 2 games it’ll probably be then. Sunday’s far too soon though.

I'll lob a grenade in here then with my own...

A Steve Clarke appointment would have been as inspiring as your maw telling you it was microwave Lasagne for dinner but he would have us bang in contention for this League.

No matter how many goals or assists Jota produces, his hair will remain a pale imitation of Armstrong's lustrous mane.

How is this controversial? It's just stating the obvious.

Mikey Johnston is a much better player than Abada.

When Forrest is fit he also plays ahead of Abada

Forrest, on form, is a far better player than Abada from what I've seen of the young guy so far. Forrest can go down the wing, cut into the box or link-up play, he scores goals and creates chances. Abada has goals in him and will create some opportunities but not as many as Forrest, he doesn't come into the box as often and when he does it's usually for a shot that goes wide. He doesn't link the play anywhere near as well either and his crossing is nearly always terrible, either hitting the 1st man or firing it out of play. Johnston, if fit and on form, is probably our best dribbler with a goal in him too, he has the potential but needs to stay fit. Abada certainly has potential too but if all 3 were fit and in form he would be my third choice of the 3.

I don't think that's too controversial to be honest. Abada is doing a shift and has bags of potential. He's still very young and very raw.

I've criticised him but even in the last couple of weeks you can see him working on his overall game. He's one I would expect to drift in and out of the team for a year or two then hopefully begin to make the step up to key player.

Johnstone is potentially an unreal talent if he can get over his problems.

We should have brought back Mulgrew in one of the preceding seasons, and even now, he'd arguably be better than Starfelt, at aerial matters, and ball-playing. Monster set piece taker, as well as a massive Tim.

I stated a controversial opinion, in the thread meant for it. Feel free to put forth arguments that beat mine.

Mulgrew instead of Duffy last season, and we lose way less points than we did, through better defensive performance, and scored set pieces. When he settled in, during the first Lennon stint, he was making mistakes every 15 or so games, instead of most of our defenders last season having a nightmare moment every game.

Yea thts true I feel like it would have been more controversial a few weeks ago, Abada got off to a flier but a young wingers form was always going to be up and down . Like you say he does have bags of potential though

Manchester United fans will soon be scratching their heads and asking who is this new manager of ours that comes from the other side of the world (via a brief stint in Scotland) without any knowledge of English football; who has coached nobody teams in minnow competitions; and, whose name is near unpronounceable.

As an aside, I think when the team does well this thread takes a back seat.

Tony Watt could do a job for us. Strong, works hard, skillful, creates and scores goals. Also seems to have grown up a bit. Not 1st choice obviously but good to come off the bench and fill in for injuries.

My hot take is that refereeing in Scotland isn't that good
