Massive day for us here in County Mayo. The whole county is in great form for this one and hopefully come the final whistle the long wait is over and my new home county are champions. Everywhere you look everyone and everywhere is decked out in green and red. Always a fantastic spectical for Ireland. Com on the Mayo

50-50 game for me. 2 evenly matched teams. I usually support fellow Ulster teams but don't like Tyrone, so hopefully Mayo win :)

Probably the easiest win for Tyrone from the 1st round in Ulster

Well deserved Tyrone. Took their chances and Mayo didn't. Goals win games. Serious defending from Tyrone also to put Mayo forwards under pressure.

Sore one that was yesterday. Can't believe everytime we get to a final we come up short. Really thought yesterday was going to be the year along with everyone else. I don't think Mayo will recover from that for a few years. But fair * to Tyrone. Well deserved!

Think you might be right. This defeat really has to be so traumatic for Mayo and the players. It was clear this era of dominance from Dublin was over early on this season and Mayo confirmed that by beating us in the semi-final. So to then turn around and lose the final yet again but not just lose it I think the manner of the absolute no show performance wise that is what is most catastrophic about this defeat I think for Mayo.

In Ulster there is really not a lot between Tyrone, Donegal and Monaghan. Armagh are not far behind these three. Any of these three teams would have given Tyrone a more difficult game and in the context of the all Ireland final and consequently would all likely have beaten Mayo on the day.

With Mayo it's a mix of the monkey on their backs and the extreme confidence of their supporters when they reach an all Ireland final. The mantra of "this is our year I know I said that last time but this time is different" just won't go away. In the context of the GAA the mood of the supporters cannot be insulated from the team.

Agree with you there about the other counties in Ulster been there or thereabouts with Tyrone. Fair point about supporters in the GAA as well.

With hopefully the Pandemic changing and becoming more of an endemic situation over the next few months 2022 will hopefully see a full GAA season. Will be interesting what format the championship takes given the clear need for a change to the format and I am nor talking about this or last seasons old school straight knock out and provincial format which was understandable given the circumstances.

Personally my preference is for the league to be linked into the championship.

I see today that the GAA is indeed holding a consultation process with players etc on the format for next years football season and the early indications do indeed look like it will be with the national league feeding into the championship in some form. Will be interesting to see what the exact structure will look like.
