I don’t think there’s any way it can be spun into a positive. There’s really only 3 possible scenarios I feel.

    1) genuine personal reasons eg ill health

    2) not up to the task. Credit to try board for taking swift action, but questions need to be asked about their own due diligence if that is the case. It’s one of the most important roles within the clubs after all.

    3) disagreement internally. This seems the most likely to me and is quite worrying. A kind of ‘old vs new’ line of thought comes to mind. McKay possibly trying to upset the proverbial apple cart, and a few of the older heads not liking it.

I'm sure he has deleted all social media? Could that be an option?

I’m not sure why he’s done so, but I don’t see anything to suggest social media was the reason he left.

If, by any chance, it's the third one there then it wouldn't really surprise me as our board are dinosaur tory *.

The way Ange was talking in that interview, I don’t think the tone fitted the ill health/serious personal reasons category.

We’ll be speculating for some time on this perhaps

Dom spoke pure porkies in his appointment with Ange and all the fans lapt it up and rushed out and bought season books as a club we have been a * show since old Rangers went bust. But again the same fans lapt that up cause we where winning. Then we have a challenge and we fall at the first hurdle.

Being called a rabid anti-Lawwell is a compliment. Wear it like a badge of honour.

Anyone that dines out (pun intended) on Celtic's charitable roots and asks fans to text Walfrid's Wish, while keeping company with Lord Livingston of Parkhead who voted to cut Tax Credits and take food off the table of those very same families - is a guy not worth your respect.

What a brilliant response. The supporters are the only constant at Celtic.

Sounds like Ange is saying that it wasn’t Dom who brought him to the club. Lawwell has obviously still been running things from behind the scenes.
I suspect they lost faith in Dom when the Howe deal went * up for whatever reason.

Another reference - this time Ange - to mention his family specifically. Just a feeling, but I don't actually think this is anything to do with McKay, the board or any team related matter. I think something's in play in his home life

I’ve heard that recording today. Just says he knows a guy, that know a guy that’s in with Celtic.

I don’t even know if that’s actually Charlie Mulgrew since he’s got that pure generic voice.

But what he says in it is very much believable.
