Carries so much unwarranted blame, asked to come in to fill in usually wen we are literally fukd with missing players, and not having a proper defense settled, so I feel for him, in another team would be a stand out, very effective fir his country, another scapegoated player we love to have to take our frustration out.

After that 'Edourd' miss on goal after that beautiful pass from maestro Kyogo, against the Huns, Bitton will do well to even rival that.

Was a good squad player but seems to be played less and less , perhaps he ha got too comfortable on the sidelines ? Time to move him on and get somebody else in who is hungry to play for the first team .

    How’s he a scape goat?

He’s been here since about 2013, played under 4 managers and only one ever thought he was a first team regular, and that was 7 years ago.

By that alone he should be gone.

The one thing that kept him around was his ability to come in and do a job infrequently when we struggled in transition or with injuries. The fact he can’t even do that isn’t a defence of him, it’s the final nail in the coffin.

There was a time he was class in midfield but it’s been that long who the * knows.

Put it this way though, I’d rather he played there than at centre half.

As you mentioned though 4 managers have turned to him in varying degrees.

Bitton has performed better playing out of position at CB than a certain £5m player we’ve signed recently..

That’s my opinion, that’s yours I take it.. Bitton is more composed, plays out the back better, probably about the same with diving in too eagerly but that’s not his usual position so is bound to make the odd mistake, Starfelt has been awful, his own goal was just amateurish at best and makes Effy look like Maldini.. well kinda..

Starfelt is a much, much, better defender. He’s also just in the door and needs to be given a chance.

Bitton, a supposedly experienced member of our squad, sold the jerseys big time against the Danes.

    * *, that's some outstanding attempt at spin.

They turned to him out of absolute necessity due to being ridiculously let down by an incompetent board, not out of choice.

He's let down the most recent two in massive games.

Sometimes the best option available is a * stinker, or in our case Bitton.

Hows that spin? It’s fact & even you mentioned it. There were other players they could have picked but went with Nir.

That sending off against and the Danes was a disgrace, final straw. He's a total *, lost the head cos he got a wee cut on his face and * the game for us.

    "Hows that spin? It’s fact"

Mate, spin is when facts are 'spun' to be interpreted in a different way. To respond to an accusation of spin with, "It's fact" is stupid. No one's disputing the manager 'turned' to Nir Bitton.

Let me give you an example:

Ange picked Barkas and Bain for massive games this season. Technically they were the best options available and our manager 'turned' to them, but it's hardly a positive. The alternative was going with a Conor Hazard. You could spin it and say Ange put his faith in Barkas, but the reality is he had to pick Barkas because the alternative was even worse.

That's what you're doing with Bitton. He's chosen at CB when our team is a riot, which is often because our board consistently leave the manager short of options.

The most recent two times our manager's have been forced to do it, they've been let down.

As I said before, those same manager don't have any faith in Bitton unless all other reasonable options are exhausted and even then he lets us down. It's ridiculous anyone would seriously argue he should be kept or is somehow hard done by.

He probably just didn't want to go to Denmark or something. Either that or he couldn't be arsed playing.

But people think he's hard done by :56:

That’s where your spin comes into it. He has been picked over other options. He’s also been picked in front of ‘first choice’ sometimes.
At worst case going by your flawed analogy above, by definition makes him a squad player.
Are you daft enough to not want squad players. Because we can’t have a squad full of first choice players.

He’s being scapegoated again for being available & picked, or not.
