I reckon ronaldo could play into his 40s easily if he wants to.

We just dont have the talent,a great effort but it was the ronaldo show tonight.Ref plays a minute and half extra time after the injury time and blows up when we get the ball and go on the attack, ronaldo giving a peno, ronaldo not punished for raising his hand, ref plays on after 5 mins injury time till ronaldo scores and then blows up b4 we can get up the pitch.

Imo the game is getting worse and worse, its all about the big teams/names being in the big comps, theres no room for the little boys anymore.

Ronaldo is an exemplary football player. The second greatest of all time without a doubt.

A petulant, creepy arsewipe of a man though. Have no respect for him as a person. (I’m sure he’s devastated.)

    * me clearly didn’t watch the game then :giggle1: Duffy was a colossus all game the goal wasn’t his fault the cross should’ve been stopped and before that Hendrick should’ve put it into row Z.

That about sums it up really. We are a really dreadful side at the moment but last night did at least show some signs of potential for the future. We tried to actually play as much as possible and the younger lads in the side for the most part played well last night.

Think that 3-0 Ireland betting offer that came up just before the game was asking a bit much, but they've started OK, quite energetic.

What the * has happened to Ireland, 5 years ago they were a decent team. Even under Mccarthy they were passable. While I can see there is quite a few young players who will be better in a couple of years, there is still enough experience there to beat Azerbaijan?

A think ‘decent’ is pushing it a bit. We just played the dogmatic O’Neill ball to the letter and it helped us qualify for the Euros and beat an already qualified Italy B team.

The reality is we haven’t been ‘decent’ since about 2002/04. At that point in time we had genuinely elite level players in our team in key positions, Robbie Keane, Roy Keane, Duff even lads like Finnan and Dunne are leagues above pretty much anything we have now. We are in dire, dire straits. We have neither the quality of player, manager or youth coming through to get anywhere near qualifying for a major tournament right now.
