I'm just glad we got shift, he wasn't any good for Celtic or Scotland.

Never seen anything in him when he was here and I wasn't impressed when he played for Scotland after getting bigged up.

Strange situation, can only imagine there's a real shortage of even average CB's in Belgium. Might explain why Liege shipped 9 goals to the huns.

Checking their results, Brugge last game they just lost 6-1. Explains this a bit more. Obvs really desperate for reinforcements defensively.

The guy has forged a career in Belgium in a superior league and has got a bug money move. People here hating on him just can't accept the fact he has improved considerably

I think it's because he comes across as a bit of a tool.

Personally I was pleased he had done well, but he acts like he's VVD these days, so he's a bit of a *.

Not sure about the legalities. The way the article reads is that Club Brugge contacted Oostende. Oostende were fly enough to ask for double and Brugge only found out afterwards. Probably player or agent informed about the release clause.

Amazing how this guy has landed on his feet. Big money move, by his standards, and playing in the CL against Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, De Bruyne etc.

    Funny world football.

    Cheeky * if true.

Shouldn’t have to advertise a clause, but if a team makes a bid above the clause you should make them aware really.

I think their budget in somewhere in the region of 10mil€, so they thought jackpot haha, Last day on transfermarket etc. But there is no love lost between both clubs and cities, only like 15km from each-other. So Oostende was never giving Brugge anything they didnt know is my guess lol.

Watching him in this Scotland game.

Anytime their striker goes near him he's down. Guys a big spice boy Jessie.

Seriously questioning the belgian league now :giggle1:

    done well first half

watching him and the other defenders you see just how high level of concentration and how you have to have a decent level of football intelligence to keep tabs on the movement of neymar mbappe and messi never mind the rest of psg's stars

playing against the best make you better

People simply didn’t look at his situation rationally. It became fashionable to not rate the guy simply because he was poor here and didn’t come across well.

Put that to one side and look at his ability as a player alone, and he’s not anywhere near as bad as people made out while he was here.

I still think he’s jobby and I wouldn’t take him back for free if it meant he was playing.

I don’t think the episode in which he allegedly tried to profit from tickets to Ibrox helped the lack of sympathy towards him.
