    I don’t think even they’re that daft, think most signings get announced as ‘make second signing of the season’ ‘Celtic make 4th signing of the summer’ etc etc

    I’ve seen it all day in headlines for other clubs to be fair. I just don’t think it matters. It’s a weird thing for us to get annoyed over.

    Aye, that’s the obvious interpretation. Some folk just don’t want to see it that way, which is partly understandable as we’re Celtic fans and don’t want to diss our own club.

    On the other hand, it’s just the kind of passivity the board totally rely on.

    Defend the club - the real club: the fans, the movement - to the end; but don’t let the PLC away with anything, I say.

    Not in the bigger picture, it’s not.

    As we’ve seen before, it can go from ‘this is our 10th signing’ today to ‘the fans are entitled’ tomorrow.

    It all comes from the same mindset: justifying their own (lack of) contribution, with zero regard for our real expectations.

    When it appears as part of a media announcement from the club, they choose their words carefully with PR principles front and foremost. You can count on it being more than a basic statement of fact.
