We need a left winger. He seems to be the choice. I’m disappointed we aren’t going for Lovric. Especially given the fact he would cost £3.5m as opposed to £6m. I understand the loan to buy is significantly better than a simple loan. However, guys from Spain/Portugal tend to struggle with the pitches and rough nature of our game. That’s where someone like Lovric would thrive. In saying that, im glad we are filling a position in the squad that’s clearly lacking.

I’ve wanted Lovric since day one. He’s so good on the ball and his dead ball situations are so good. I said in another thread, with a 3rd choice keeper and a centre back at right back, Lovric would have * thrived today.

 

I don't disagree I've thought the same with his set pieces but there must be a reason why ange is going for the Portuguese kid instead

It’s a short term option with no fee to begin with. Yes we have an option to buy but I think we can all agree that the Lovric deal would have made far more sense

I hope it works out. I live a loan with an option to buy, even if it doesn't work out. It just feels like we're actually thinking about the future if it works out.

 

Yes but option to buy is us trying before we buy so I'm not unhappy at this one at all I'd love it if we managed both of them but it's not to be at this time

Benfica talent Filipe Jota is reportedly on the brink of completing his move to Celtic.

And the move could run longer than just the initial loan deal, according to a report in Portugal.



Parkhead manager Ange Postecoglou is looking to add to his squad before Tuesday’s deadline and Record Sport understands the 22-year-old forward has emerged as a potential option.

The loan offer looks set to be rubber stamped in the coming days, but Benfica are reportedly willing to allow him to leave permanently.


Portuguese transfer insider Pedro Almeida claims that a purchase option at the end of next season is written into the contract.

This will mean the Premiership side would have to stump up €7.5million to make the deal permanent.

Jota spent last season on loan with Real Vallodolid in La Liga, scoring once in 17 appearances, but has yet to make an appearance for the Lisbon outfit following his return.
