Eddie done the hold up play well last night when he came on but Kyogo is so much more dangerous through the middle than he is out left and that's exactly where we'd need to play him if Eddie stays.

If he goes and we're bringing in the Greek as back-up/sub CF, Lovric on the left, Kyogo back in centrally and then some investment in other areas of need then I'll be pleased.

Eddie is a fantastic player on his day, no denying it but it's a good time for all parties to do a deal

I don't want to hear any board nonsense about "we tried" when it comes to parting with some of the cash though. Ange is on the cusp of something brilliant here, we need to push the boat out.

Only if the winner of the CL also wins their league at home.

They should have avoided this situation in the first place. Everyone knows the dangers of letting a players contract run into the final year. This has been happening since the Bosman ruling in 1995.

We should have sold him when his stock was high and when he was under contract, maximising on our profit.
Yes we were going for 10IAR but the money could have been reinvested in new talent.

The board have form for lack of foresight.

The winners of the spl this season only goes directly into the groups next summer if the winners of CL also wins their own league at home. If not we will have qualifiers to play.
It was discussed on some podcast and that was what they said. So PSG or man city i think was the two teams talked about.

In other words eddy staying might not give us the big windfall we all think.

That’s not the case. The Champions League winner just needs to have already gained qualification via their league position (not via winning their league), i.e. be top 4 in England, Spain or Germany, top 3 in France etc.

The only real threat to that would be an English club I would imagine and even at that, I can’t see Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool or Chelsea finishing outwith the top 4 this year, especially if they’re good enough to win the Champions League.

Everton is a far better move for him, even though I did say it’s where careers go to die…

I’d take £5m if it means they keep Kenny.

Had a look at the Everton squad there, can’t find two players in it who we’d be able to pay the wages of and do a job for us.
