He's been defensively good lately and stronger..

Some harsh comment's in here. Wasn't his best game but he was still pretty decent on the ball..

Nice wee backheel almost put us away first half on the halfway line as well..

It has to be him over Rogic in a 3 in big game's..

I don't think age is a factor here. I think he's brilliant at what he does. Why people are expecting him to charge about and win possession and make tackles is beyond me. Very few players are able to do everything well. I wouldn't expect Soro or McCarthy to consistently score piledrivers or get multiple assists. Their job is to break play up and keep things ticking over. Turnbull is all about creating and trying things.

Let him do his thing and if a game requires a different approach then bring someone else in. Same for Rogic. A midfield trio of McCarthy/Soro, Christie and McGregor would have been better suited for last night. Or at least 2 sitters and let Turnbull or Rogic use their energy in forward areas.

His influence will grow in games like last night the more experience he has in them, when you need to muck in, show for the ball in positions you might not be completely comfortable in, retain possession, slow it down when needed and make sure you do the job that needs done.

That’s what age doesn’t bring and that’s what he was missing last night and that’s ok.

I just think it was a poor decision to play both him and Tam together in midfield in an away European tie, especially when we did not need to chase the game.

Totally agree. It appears he doesn’t trust Soro though (which I can understand at the moment) and with McCarthy and Forrest (who could have played LW) out, we didn’t really have much choice.

We badly need more depth in our squad. A new CM (McCann) and LW (Lovric) really wouldn’t go amiss.

Eddy instead of Tam, Christies energy in midfield.
You are correct, and I doubt anyone will disagree, we do need more squad depth. And McCann along with Lovric would be excellent signings.

Could argue that both ways; personally I think Ange made the change at the right time (could arguably have been a little sooner), but starting Edouard would have left us even more threadbare off the bench. I think when he came on, he gained more belief and more of a foothold, whereas if we’d been up against it and he was already on the pitch, we’d have been out of options (as I don’t think Rogic makes that impact off the bench and Ajeti certainly doesn’t).

Again though, that’s just a result of not having enough depth.

    Indeed.

The best is yet to come. The potential is there for all to see, and Ange might just be the ideal manager at this moment in time for him to take the next step.

Good to see folk get off his back compared to 3 weeks ago.

He is a quality player, and will chip in with 15 plus goals this season to boot.

Remain a huge fan - and come end of season will be worth his weight in gold. Will learn a lot this year - Ange will get a lot of development out of him.

    I rate him incredibly highly.

I genuinely think I'm fitter than him. His fitness is a disgrace.

That performance by him was a disgrace..

So many time's he was bullied off it..

His set pieces were beyond woeful. Especially that attempted shot 35 yards out.

Shat the tackle that led to their freekick and then corner for their goal..

    Should be embarrassed..

    Went missing today.

We know his technical ability but it’s brutal how slow he is. You’d think he was 15/20 years older than he is.

Similar performance from him today in the games we saw against them last season. He's a stylish player and is amazing against cannon fodder, but when the going gets tough, games seem to bypass him.

Needs to offer more out there. A very disappointing performance.
