Still got a lot to offer, just get him on a new contract, with the promise of punting him at seasons end.
Him and gogo up front would be awesome for a season.

Why would he sign it? If he leaves at the end of the season he’ll end up with a big sign on fee because the lack of transfer.

Got a bad feeling he will be here till January window when we get peanuts for him or he runs down his contract to get bigger wages and we get * all. Really need him punted now to get some money in and get another few signings.

If he's already set on moving somewhere else there's no benefit to him doing this, promising him we'll let him go if a bid comes in when he can sign a deal in january with no transfer fee, likely gaining him bigger wages and signing bonus but still costing an incoming team less overall because we're cut out of the deal. The ball is firmly in his court and he, or his agent, knows it.

Why would he sign a new deal when he wants to leave? Do you not think we've offered him a new deal or at least had a conversation about it?

Pie in the sky stuff to even consider he might sign an extension.

I still think he'll go but its at the point now I'd rather he knuckles down, shows the form we know he's capable of and moves on at the end of the season for nothing having helped us win the league and with it qualify for the CL.

Yesterday was better but still capable of more. If ange can get a tune out of him I've got no doubts we'll win the league.

For his goal, his build up play and run was the most direct attacking intent I’ve seen him put in for quite a while.

I honestly don't think any player's form could drop as dramatically as his did. I think it was a culmination of things such as - not being happy under NL, a lack of a proper training regime at Lennoxtown, the general malaise surrounding the club and, most importantly, him wanting a move down south. I believe all these factors made him decide not to give 100% which for a professional footballer, isn't great

Even if he was happy to stay another year, why would he? It’s literally only Celtic that benefits not him, we’ve already shown last year we’ll put ourselves first so I don’t see why he’d be fussed putting himself first.

And getting Covid, that seemed to majorly effect him.

Unless we massively increased his wages. Then he would benefit for the next 12 months he is here. Which might not be the daftest thing for us to try as we will then receive a fee for him which would outweigh the additional wages we would give him for the next year. It could also backfire if he is hopeless for the next 12 months and we get stuck with him, which I can’t imagine would happen, but you never know.

    I'd actually prefer he didn't.

We are very much in a transitional rebuild phase. Edouard epitomises everything that was wrong with our past regime. Him staying will only hinder our recruitment process. Not just from lack of funds, but also because he'll be in the way of other players getting game time. Or, it'll mean an attacking midfielder has to be sacrificed to accommodate him and Kyogo.

Keeping Eddy 1 more year will do nothing more than give us short term gains. And I'm not even convinced we'd get that.

It would need to be a massive increase to be able to much whatever sign on fee he could command as a free agent I think.

We did but we also had Neil Lennon as manager and went on to have Jonjoe Kenny and Shane Duffy in our defence, with no fans in the stadium.

I think we will be a different animal attack wise this season and he could flourish if his head can be settled. Last season is now a write off.

The wage would be a security for him though. He could get injured halfway during the season which could in turn scupper a big move and big signing on fee for him. He would need to weigh that up as well.
