Exactly. For me the endearing thing about Frimpong was that he was SO young and raw with flashed of serious, serious potential. But his final ball never improved over the year and half he was here.

Maybe Ange’s regime might’ve sharpened his delivery technique. Who knows.

If Ralston and Taylor are technically good enough for Angeball then Frimpong is more than technically good enough.

It’d actually suit him more because he wouldn’t be asked to try and whip in balls all game.

    Could be right.

Pace wise, frightening obviously, and maybe I am being harsh as he is still very young.

Either way, we should be looking to add full backs with good delivery. Huns have it (just not for the past 4 games).

Frimpong with Forrest or Abada to play with on the wing would be a different beast entirely.

For too long last season, everything was being made to go through Frimpong alone

Frimpong was never a good defender tho, I think that became clear. He was also a midget and we were easily targeted bcos of that.

Frimpong was a steal and he was excellent for his age and experience. The longer he played it became obvious he had major weaknesses, none of which were getting addressed. Never was convinced he was an actual RB as never crossed or hit the byline.

Frimpong under Rodgers and then under Lennon were two very different people.

For his size, under Rodgers, he had no problem getting into physical battles and breaking away from players trying to pressure him.

He's not great defensively sure.... But the effect of Lennon on nearly every single player seems to be massively dismissed, he was detrimental to the development of every player in the squad.

Obviously considering Frimpong signed after Rodgers had left.

Ah ffs, anyone would think I'm already senile I'm losing track of time and history.

Either way I would argue the Lennon effect still stands. Frimpong came in, looked electric, looked like a bullish, RB despite his frame but over time and through injuries to our wingers, any good he had in him was lost through coaching so bad, there probably was no coaching.

Actually think Lennon was good for him. He got popular quick and Lennon obviously rated him and he was pretty much Lennon's first pick in the team.

His weaknesses were exposed the more he played. But he did play which gave him the exposure to get his move.

Canny be true, somebody in here was claiming his final ball wouldn’t improve with coaching.
