Anthony Ralston

Gives absolutely everything and is growing in confidence! Nothing but respect for how he's conducting himself so far this season. There are much bigger tests ahead for sure, but credit where it is due.

 

Improving every game. Game time seems to be a key ingredient.

Not sure why people are blaming his lack of progression on Lennon when almost everyone had put him down. He never performed badly in any game he played. Sometimes people like to talk * regardless to make themselves feel better.

Fair enough, but if you had wanted a RB to come in and prove themselves, what above what Ralston has done would you have expected?

 

We definitely need another RB in the squad, no one can disagree with that.

 

Certainly happy to watch Ralston get better but he still needs replaced. We can all see what playing for celtic means to Ralston and I think that can distort our image of how good or bad he is. Look, against jablonec then yes Ralston can certainly do a job but as we ramp up I fear he will be found wanting. Would happily be proven wrong mind.

Both Ralston and Taylor should be back up. I don't think it can be underestimated how much better as a team we would become if we had better in the FB positions. Imagine izzaguirre and lustig (in their prime) I'm this team. It would go up a whole different level.

 

Was solid again last night, one particularly good defensive header. Linked reasonably well with midfielders.
Still not the answer, but for sure, adequate back up.

 

He is clearly working his bollocks off in training and in the games, a great example of what can happen with that kind of attitude. We need another RB in but credit to Ralston for stepping up when we've needed him.

 

The vast majority up until about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

 

We need another RB because we only have 1. The RB will need to be qaulity to walk into the team if not he shall be the backup. Gives us a bit of breathing room to sort the left side out though.

Always believed in him after he skinned the entire psg team and nearly scored

 

He’s been very solid over the piece so far, fair play to him. But I still can’t get past the fact he seems a bit…I dunno, clunky for a fullback. He’d be a dependable back up but I do hope we get in Couto or Juranović, preferably the latter.

I think he looks muscle bound but if that's what "clunky" looks like, then yeh, he's definitely on the "clunky" side

 

So pleased to see him playing well.

 

I like that he doesn't fear to try things and works hard. What I don't like are the occasional mistakes and blunders. I hope this could go away once he gains more experience. Hopefully the learning process doesn't cost us too much.

 

Unfortunately, we can't afford occasional mistakes and blunders and that's why, if he does begin to loose the form he's showing just now, we will have another RB who can step in and take his place
