I am buzzing to see what else he has in store for us this season. I reckon I must take it one game at a time, and expect a big red birthday present wrapped in a golden bow when I see him on the teamsheet. Hes brings us joy.

Think fact ange has worked in Japan and knows bit of his language helps him get a bit of his instruction across like ange said though if you have a football brain you will understand any way

KYOGO FURUHASHI is working hard on his English off the field.

And Celtic captain Callum McGregor has praised him for being fluent with his football on it.

Japanese frontman Furuhashi wowed 24,500 Celtic fans with a dazzling hat-trick in Sunday’s 6-0 rout of Dundee.

But it was the £4.5million star’s overall attitude in the game which provided as much satisfaction for his team-mates and boss Ange Postecoglou.

Furuhashi wasn’t just about getting in the box for chances, he was also more than happy to harass defenders in possession and chase down attempted clearances.

McGregor has been knocked out by Furuhashi so far — and would love to see him turn it on again for Thursday's Europa League qualifying second leg against Jablonec.

The Celts skipper said: “He’s been absolutely first class.

“When you think about where he was in the world two weeks ago to where he is now, it’s huge testament to him as a person, as a character, and his ability to come in and hit the ground running.

He’s got his interpreter with him as well, in case the language barrier becomes a problem at any time.

But he’s been great. What I will say is that his English is improving very, very quickly as well, so he’s obviously working really hard on that too, which is another testament to him as a person.

Football has its own language, where people who have a football brain, you can see it very quickly.

He’s certainly someone who has a football brain.

“He knows when to run, he knows when to come short and receive the ball, his touch, everything about him.

“When you’re on the pitch, it’s that sort of telepathic understanding that makes football. As much as there might be a language barrier or different cultures, we can try and help as much as we possibly can off the pitch.

“He’* the ground running, so long may that continue for him.”

Shunsuke Nakamura earned Celtic legend status over a four-year spell but never gave the impression publicly that learning English was a priority.

In fairness, the Japanese genius more than did his talking in games

McGregor, though, agreed that Furuhashi can still help himself by being able to comfortably communicate with his team-mates.

The Scotland ace said: “Absolutely. He’s working really hard on the English and we’ve got a great bunch of lads in there that are always helping.

“Kyogo’s given us a real presence up front, he’s working hard, and all of that comes when he’s feeling comfortable and happy.”

Postecoglou knew all about the ex- Vissel Kobe idol through his days as Yokohama Marinos head coach.

He said: “He’s still learning and still understanding how we want to play.

“It’s a different league, a different culture and a new set of team-mates for him, so I’m sure he will get better.

What we do know about him is — and people saw this against Dundee — that he’s a talented footballer.

“Forget his talent and his physical attributes, he’s an intelligent footballer and that’s why I think he’ll get better.

“He’s come here to improve his football and find new ways to be effective.”

To be fair, 1.2m of them are me.

I’m trying not to get over excited but I’d make the whole club operate in Japanese rather than make him learn English.

SPFL highlights of our game has 1.7m views after 3 days. Rangers v Dundee Utd has 73k after 4 days. You’d think our social media’s would’ve shot up with followers but they haven’t really.

As fans, we've been saying since Naka left Asia was a great market to operate in, mainly we'd all say because of the talent it produces and it would be amazing trying to tap into before others did.

Trying to think of a reason why our board would want to do it and again, we'd all agree it's a passionate, fiercely loyal market for its fans as well and so cynically, there was marketing revenue to be had there.

Mad to think we never really went back into the Japanese Market since Mizuno and yet look at the eyes we are getting after signing Kyogo.

I think as well the Japanese are superb professionals. I could never imagine a Japanese player returning a stone overweight like Griffiths.
