Yea. That was a very good team they had. Very enjoyable to watch. The sheer athleticism of McGeeney, the cynicism and grit of Francie Bellew, the supreme point taking of Clarke, McDonnell and McConville. They had the lot really. Tyrone just had more.

Earlier when everything was closed with the pandemic I was doing a lot of watching of old GAA games and one was the 1977 All Ireland final between Dublin and Armagh. Although I guess the final that year was really the Dublin v Kerry semi-final as Armagh were never in it in the final. No doubt their best team was that first decade at the turn of the century although as you rightly say in the end they still mostly played second fiddle to Tyrone. The 2005 All Ireland semi-final defeat had to be particularly hard to take against Tyrone having already beaten them in the Ulster Final. Still at least they won that one All Ireland title in 2002.

Sore loss for my county’s under 20s last night. Really had it in the bag for most of the game. However fair play to Roscommon, never cease to have impressive underage teams. Hopefully one day soon this will all bare fruit, and I don’t just mean winning a Connacht title here and there!

It will take some effort to beat us in the final

It was a long 45 years between Championships but Limerick don't look like going anywhere for a few years

They certainly are strong favourites no doubt about it. Agree with you too they will be likely winning some more titles well beyond this year. They seem a good bit ahead of the rest right now.

I saw that on RTE this morning a few Tyrone lads self isolating and waiting for test results for covid. Lets hope it proves to be a false alarm and they are all ok.

Tyrone asked for a two week postponement. All their players will be able to play but with the one week they will only have days to prepare as a team. The GAA are giving just enough time to give the illusion of fairplay

Now Tyrone saying they are thinking of withdrawing due to the lack of time to prepare. Really putting it up to the GAA there with that threat. Hope it does not come to that and they are given the extra week so the game can be played.

The guts of an entire panel worth of players, a large chunk of whom will never have played county senior? Come on now.

Anyone give Cork a chance v Limerick? They've been superb this championship but I think this is a game too far for them. Hoping I'm wrong though.

What happens next week if Kerry claim that they have loads of cases? Can they request an extension or is that not allowed? Do we know how many players tested positive also?

Tyrone have pulled out of the semi against Kerry. A shame, there would have been loads of players in Tyrone who would have loved a call up and the chance to compete in an All Ireland semi-final. Who cares if they would get beat by 20 points or whatever, fulfill the fixture. Bad for Kerry too, they could have done with a game. Instead they'll go into the final cold.

Drafting in players from club footbal would be a complete mismatch. They would have nowhere near the fitness needed to play at this level. If Kerry were to take it seriously they'd lose by closer to 40 points. Be more competitive if kerry put out a second 15 and played themselves.

Not to mention the time and sarcfice put in by the current panel who have managed to reach this stage of the competition.

A simpler spolution was to give them another week even if the game were to be played in Galway or Limerick. Of course that wouldn't fill the GAA coffers by as much

Fermanagh didn't get another week when they were in a similar covid related situation before. I know the GAA is fond of changing its own rules but it has to draw the line somewhere.

Give Monaghan a chance at playing Kerry then if Tyrone can't field a team.

And even if they did lose by 40 points...so what? At least they would have given it a go.

    Awful news from Tyrone

Last time a County couldn't fulfill a major game was back during the War of Independence

Monaghan playing Kerry would be an option provided Monaghan are happy to take Tyrones place.

If it's just about fulfilling a fixture for the sake of it then Tyrone may as well send out their minor team. At least they are active at the moment and play together. It would be a bit of of farce but no more the putting together a senior side of players who have not played together as a team or even trained together.
