Anytime doing a channel flick and this is on I have to stop and watch, despite probably knowing every word of every episode.

Was flicking through the channels last night and watched the episode where Tony is comatose and having the dream about being the travelling salesman. That ending is one that's always stuck with me. Knowing that James Gandolfini himself is dead now makes it all the more moving. Everything about it is perfect television.

Anyone else looking forward to the prequel movie?

Can’t wait for the prequel. Hoping it’s the same standard as the series.
Not actually a big fan of the dream sequences in the sopranos- particularly the ones with * and that singing fish thing :56:

Looking back it’s his subconscious telling him who’s a threat reason why he shoots paulie in one of them his sun conscious is hinting to him that paulie is the one talking to New York

There’s loads of wee stories like this about Gandolfini. A genuinely good person by all accounts.

Was in isolation with covid last week and the week before with my girlfriend so blasted through the first season and most of season 2.

It’s just so * brilliant, and it’s absolutely a show that needs to be watched more than once to understand/appreciate it because you really see how cleverly it’s shot. There’s a meaning to every little detail in every shot and you simply wouldn’t notice it the first time around.

5 times here man...And it just gets better and better.

The acting is phenomenal from all especially from T.

Shout out to Van Zandt in this,to get asked in to play Tony Soprano when he's never really acted before,to then ask to sit back look at it and ask to play a smaller role to let someone else step in was wonderful hindsight on his part.

Pretty sure he nearly battered Weinstein as well.

No one has a bad word to say against Gandolfini man.

Started watching this again and I don’t know how I never made the connection with Goodfellas before, when Christopher is in the bakery (season 1 episode 8) and shoots the lad behind the counter in the foot. Christopher played Spider in Goodfellas and Tommy shot him in the foot :giggle1:

So many references to goodfellas and the godfather in it

Gandolfini based his acting of the character on a hitman he knew when was bouncer

And David chase based parts of the crew on the boiardo crew his uncle was apart of in jersey they kicked upto Genovese family

She was in an episode of Sopranos. Uncredited and before she was famous. Played a classmate of Anthony Jr in the school scene when they wrecked the swimming pool.

Can’t be. Lady Gaga is nowhere near rubenesque enough.

The running time for the movie is two hours. I think no matter how good it is I’ll be disappointed because there’s no way they’ll be able to fit in all the things I want to see I.e. Feech’ card game, Ercole Soprano etc.

I checked as it seemed a strange choice. The only thing I could find was a twitter account saying that she is indeed playing Ginny. It’s just a random Twitter account though. Absolutely no other outlets reporting it.
