Training gear and tops look spot on but tend to agree with @Bobo_ won't be putting in anything else outwith my season book until I see a.real change in direction.

Unfortunate that this has to happen when we're partnered with a huge brand again but there's a simple way to fix it, if the appetite is there.

Yer off your rocker if you think you not buying a training top is going to change anything in the boardroom.

For anyone wondering about fit, the Tiro 21 is not as relaxed fit as last seasons Condivo 20 range but it isn't tight fitting like a lot of sports clothes or other brands.
The range is 100% recycled polyester too (that could mean something to some).

If enough people do it then it won't go unnoticed.

Merchandise, hospitality, food/drink is a sizeable portion of our revenue.

Yer off your rocker if you think thousands of folk, not dropping a few hundred quid each in the Celtic shop, won’t impact on the board

You'd be surprised, we sell a lot of shirts and training gear especially via our own site and shops. The retail mark up on those clothes is massive. Also if we don't sell well in the future then no big deal from Adidas or Nike in 4 years time.

I don’t understand what people expect to happen though?

They will just ride it out until we win the league again and everyone’s pumping money back in.

Exactly.. stopped contributing to this board last season when they refused to get rid of Lennon.. I won't be putting my hand in my pocket till I see change.

As you said I'm in a group of 6 mates that are hard core Celtic fans.. they are all of the same mind.

Might not be loads but its a couple of grand a year easy they won't be getting...

And for what it’s worth I’ve not renewed and I’ll only be using the voucher on one of the new kits.

Without the merchandise & hospitality income the PLC doesn't make a profit.

If enough people refuse to buy then they'll be pushed on why that is by Adidas. They're not paying us £6m-ish a year simply for branding in the SPFL and the Europa League, they're expecting us to ship decent amounts of merch of which they get a decent cut.

Winning a League might turn some people around but not all. Last season will live long in the memory for all the wrong reasons....and not just on the field.

Really? A small was too wee for me and medium too big…so this is promising and sounds like a medium might be a better fit!

out of curiosity, how do you know this?

Tiro 21 range has been out for months and I have some.
Adidas can be a problem if your on the edge of sizes, one too small but the next up far too big.

Aye it'll be much better to be sponsored by the likes of 'donnay'... getting £500k PA or something pish like that.

*other pish brands are available :giggle1:

I know not directed to me, but I assume this is a general question that most would want to answer.

I want to see a few things

    1. Better communication and approach to the fans.
Not just putting out more statements, but actual fan engagement. Interact with the fans offer us more things in the media realms. Stop going half arsed with the Celtic TV stuff and social media and actually start behaving like a big club does with this size of a fanbase and the tech we have to interact and engage with fans more.
For an example, you pay around 35 euro for Barca TV (and various other big clubs own media channels) and you get live streams of their youth games, womens games, mens full match (of course after the fact), highlights, live training day videos (of course they will be timed/planned to not show everything), player interviews, staff/coaching discussions, club documentaries.
Celtic TV? it is £80 and all we get is "premium" post match replay of the game and audio commentary, with the odd PR powder puff midweek thing.
Even take things like TikTok - yeah I know it is a young thing and many don't give a * - barely 39 videos on it, most recent ones are just the new kit promo ripped from other places, no thought or effort. Engage more with the fans. Stuff like that and Snapchat etc should be used as a more relaxed interaction with fans, let a player "host" it for a day or some *. Sounds really stupid, but it is the way the world goes and it all combined becomes a better engagement with the fans.

Aside from just that, actually do keep us updated more. Liaise with fan groups more - I am sure it went years without the club doing much like that, even to a point players stopped doing events.

That sort of thing is just really poor from the club.

    2. Truly modernise the backroom side of things
Now we all know Celtic can not afford £10million players in every position, * barely can afford one, so we need to really up our game in other areas to develop these players and to help bridge our own short comings.
Football is NOT just about 18 players showing up on a match day for a kick about, deeming whoever has ran the most in training the past week as the most fit.
We need so much more to the backroom side of things, it is unbelievable that it is so poor and low in both quantity and quality.
Nations like Croatia beat Scotland this week, not a massive nation by any stretch, but they manage something that Scotland can only dream of. That isn't just random selection, take a look at their clubs - more so maybe Zagreb - and notice how much more they put in to things behind the scenes to help develop their own talent.
We all talk about clubs like Ajax, Porto, Salzburg being hotbeds for developing talent, but it isn't pot luck. These clubs are scooping up the talent in their own country and closely linked nations from a young age and giving them everything to be the best they can. from teenagers they come in to a club and they go through all the youth setups training with professional coaches who all buy in to the clubs ethos on football, they have squads of coaches at each level - not just 2 guys put in charge to tell a bunch of 16 year olds to run around a cold pitch for 2 hours every other day and get a kick about in club colours at the weekend.
almost every age level has a team of coaches, their own fitness plans, their own physios, their own analysts and even their own recruitment staff at various levels.
It is criminal how far behind Celtic are in this setup, really criminal.
And it starts to show and highlight when young talent are getting to the age of 17-19 and finding there is nowhere to go. This hasn't been helped by the lack of a reserve or development league, but we can't just blame the SFA stupidity here. We lack the ability to have 17 year olds trained to a level where they can step up and take a part in the main squad - be that training for a few months and seeing the odd 5minutes here and there. Whenever we see a youth player come in, it is usually about 2 years AFTER most other clubs we want to compare ourselves to, would have given them an opportunity.

    3. Stop with the over the top grand ideas.
This one is more about Peter Lawwel to be fair, and the last few years talk of museums, hotels, shopping complexes, and train stations. All hot air stuff peddled out there far too early with very little chance of ever happening. They came up with a grand idea and pushed it out there for a PR push and a feel good factor to flex our apparent strength financially. Yet the thing has never taken off.
Actually at a point of being mocked to be honest, we laugh at clubs claiming floating pitches and casinos because a casino company said they where looking at Glasgow and Manchester to open the first UK casino, yet that is the level we were at with train stations and city centre level hotels and shopping complexes.
Give that * a rest, until you have something of substance to actually show and give us. Rather focus the attention on the engagement and media side of things, that actually can make the fans feel more welcome and involved in the club and can be achieved for a lot less money in a much quicker time frame.

    4. Stop comparing ourselves to that lot across the city and read the room.
Becoming a bug bear of mine and it is something fans do probably more than the club to be fair. But lately this #OneClubSince1888 on tweets and instagram posts is just getting cringe as *. It was alright last couple seasons when you are on top and have something to gloat about and can use it as extra "up ye" moments. But the club are clinging on to this tagline as part of a marketing push. Really? Is that all we have now, comparing ourselves to a dead club? That is our selling point and only feel good factor?
It's cringe and annoying, where it shows that too often the club seem content on just being better than the huns and nothing else.

Nice gear but I won't be putting in another penny until I see change at the club.

And I believe that with the right guy in charge (the CEO) then this club should, even with the arseholes on the board currently, be able to do all of the above and more!

But they've had decades to try and do this right and constantly cheap it out, so for me and many, we just want them all gone now.

But that said, if they can do the sort of stuff I suggest as above, then that's fine as well. Just show us some true changes and modernisation of the club.
