Look at the top goalscorers in the A-League. Jamie Maclaren is top by a distance and we know he isn’t good enough for us. Then it’s like Dad’s Army below him going by the ages. The games are usually exciting to watch because there is normally goals and cards, but that doesn’t equate to a good standard, which it isn’t.

My point was that there are goal scorers in the A league. Le Fondre in his prime would be a good buy, same for Fornaroli. I am not talking long term contracts. Everyone has been saying that Celtic needs to start well with early successes to get the the ball rolling so to speak. I want success for Celtic just like others in this Forum, and some of the stuff I have read is disheartening. Celtic were not scoring as they should have last year and the defence was weak. Celtic had eleven drawn games last season, equal to Dundee, and one less drawn game than St Johnstone and St Mirren. Things need to improve for the coming season.

 

The league is *, do they produce some good players, a very small handful that goes overseas every now and then but the league is poor.

Some of the names mentioned who would so called do a job for us! * * I nearly spat my drink out.

If that’s their best in that league then no tucking thank you. Rather we signed Scottish first division players instead.

 

Sorry mate but Le Fondre and Co are *. A 34 year old Le Fondre maybe in his prime in the A league but not for Celtic.

imagine replacing Eddy with Le Fondre..... let that sink in for a minute and read it again..... and again.

To even suggest Le Fondre you are either so biased regarding the A league or you are a troll.

Sorry mate most of the suggest players you have said are not good enough for Celtic and most of the teams in Scotland.

A leagues Top goal scorer could only get 9 goals in two seasons at Hibs and failed everywhere else as well.

 

So because we were pish last season let's go and flood our squad with a load of A League diddies aye?

The fact he rattles the goals in over there tells you everything about the league. He’s absolutely pish.

 

As an Aussie I can say that there is no way in * that Ange brings in any Aussies…. Maybe just maybe Matt Ryan the GK. That tool that mentioned LeFondre is off his head and must be a Sydney FC supporter. The only other player that would be good enough is a right wing back named Ryan Grant… nobody else let’s get that straight

 

That Grant guy is woeful..

Bombs on but has zero quality on the ball. He'd be an atrocious signing and I've seen him plenty..

Further to what I said a minute ago I’m actually a little embarrassed that some of my fellow countryman are suggesting these players…. Not saying they are not good enough for the SPL but for Celtic FC please stop it… it AINT GONNA HAPPEN PERIOD!!!

 

Mat Ryan is someone I suggested years ago on the transfer thread but he seems to have regressed the last year or two.

Not sure I’d be keen on him now.

 

I agree re Jamie McClaren, misses too many goals and woefully off target many times in front of goal.

 

Please suggest lads, who you would consider a good fit for Celtic on the pitch. If you had your choice of players in the SCPL , who would you suggest ?
