Let's back him in the transfer window. Let's not dillydally over a few hundred thousand when it comes to signing players. If he wants someone, go out and get them. Let's win this league back over the dirty mutant *

I'm excited about Ange's appointment. I think he could turn out to be just what we need to modernise and bring us forward.

It was clear from his interview that he's got an idea what he wants to achieve and he's not even in Scotland yet.

New Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou can’t wait to get started in his new role, and he vowed to excite supporters with a brand of attacking football that will also deliver success to Paradise.

He joins Celtic from Japanese side, Yokohama F. Marinos, where he had been since February 2018 and whom he led to their first league title in 15 years the following year.

Prior to his move to Japan, Ange Postecoglou managed the Australian national team in their 2014 World Cup campaign and led them to Asian Cup success in 2015. And under his managerial reign, Australia then qualified for the 2018 World Cup.

He also attained success at club level in Australia with Brisbane Roar, winning three league titles in a row from 2010-12.

Now the 55-year-old has set his sights on success with Celtic and said he is excited to get straight to work in Glasgow.

“It’s a fantastic and exciting opportunity for me,” said Ange Postecoglou. “I’m looking forward to getting there, starting work and experiencing the special atmosphere and environment that is Celtic Football Club.

“I’m well aware of the size of Celtic and the history of it. Growing up in Australia, we were starved of top-level football and anything we could get from overseas we took in as much as we could and Celtic were a big part of that.

“There’s a massive Celtic following in Australia so I’m well aware of the history, culture, success the club’s had and what it’s built on. Everyone I’ve spoken to has said it’ll be the experience of my lifetime and it’s an opportunity that’s too big to pass up.”

The Greek-born Australian manager also discussed his history with the sport and how that has influenced the style of football he wants his teams to play.

“I’ve had a real passion for the game from an early age and it was thrust upon me by my father,” he explained. “He loved the entertainers, and growing up I had Kenny Dalglish posters all over my wall. He always pointed out the players that were entertaining and attacking and that rubbed off on me. I knew the moment I started my coaching career I wanted to produce football teams that my father and other people would love to watch.

“I always drive to win things like anyone else, but I have a clear idea of how I want my football teams to play and that’s to make sure our supporters don’t sit down for 90 minutes. That’s an important part but it’s also a formula that’s worked for me to have success.

“I definitely want to entertain the faithful at Celtic Park and make sure they’re excited about the way the team plays, but the ultimate goal is to make sure the team are successful.

Well it’s done like it don’t, like it that’s all done with, he is here and probably more than anyone will need the supporters. I think he has a huge task not just rebuilding or resetting the team but convincing them to play and train his way. I hope he is as successful as we need him to be.

welcome to Celtic Ange Strap in and enjoy the ride it could be the best ride you’ll ever take.

Not announced yet but in his interview he said “We” a couple of times which makes me think he’ll be at least bringing in a No.2 at least, hopefully.

I think that the fact you have to ask.... probably implies that you/we .... know the answer already.
