We went away for the day on Friday and headed for Aberfeldy and ended up at Kenmore (at the head of the loch). While there was some ducks going about I just had my phone and you can't really see them/make them out. The view was nice, although the waste pipe i'm not so convinced about tbh, be better on a sunny day right enough but heyho its Scotland in the summer ...

A couple of local Swallows seen early this morning on my local patch, always a delight seeing,I love their chattery calls.
Also on this fine ultra dawn walk with Ruby Roo of course I saw a Herring Hull mobbing a Big Dog Fox And a couple of handsome Sedge Warblers.
Yesterday on my local patch the local pair of Raven were proudly flying with their 3 fully grown teaching them this and that:84:
I walk past every day an active Great Spotted Woodpecker hole. But very hard to get a photo to take a photo to say the least!:31::56:

Great picture Pete, re Swallows, i cut the grass on a football pitch at work, last year it was a joy as the Swallows would be swooping all around the mower as it was disturbing insects as it went around the pitch, this went on from spring till late summer, this year so far i've only seen one pair and they only dived around for a short while, that was around the middle of last week and i haven't seen them since :54:, a work mate also has Swallows nest above his upstairs window which has been occupied for the last couple of years but empty this time.
I came across a dead Hedgehog this morning at the pitch side, there has been a wee gang of * coming in to the community centre grounds in the evenings causing some damage, there was a stick lying beside the wee Hedgehog and i wouldn't be surprised if it was one of the little * that killed it.:47::47:

Yes Swallows and many other species are nesting somewhat later with the cold Spring. But soon it will change Johnie with the warmer weather:50:
As for that poor Hedgehog, horrible what evil
People can do to Animals and Wildlife. In the news recently a 13 year old boy stabbed to death a Hedgehog on Glasgow:47::47:
It seems cruelty to Amimals is never ending and Badger Baiting goes on and on. A few weeks a Wildlife Warden in England was lucky to survive being hit very hard on the back of the head with a spade when he tried to defend a Badger set against the beyond Evil scum. All of this evil on our Wildlife is of course very upsetting.
But there is to our relief a massive army of Animal lovers and Nature lovers out there including all in this thread and that massively warms our Hearts:49:
