Do people still really deem these made up stories in rags worthy of any attention at this point. Getting your knickers in a twist about Villa wanting to only bid 7m when it is just a pure fantasy piece to fill up some idiot journos quota of stories for the week

It’s a bullshit story, but let’s put this in context - have we really added £4 million to his value?

He’s done well and he’s one to watch, but he’s not a mega-bucks player yet!

    Whatever - he’s going nowhere!

In the sense that a club would have to offer more than £7m for Celtic to even consider selling him, yes.

What is a player's value if not the amount of money that the buying club would have to pay to the selling club to free him from his contract?

Did Southampton really add North of £60m to VVD value in a year? I'd argue he was the same player that left celtic. Thats football. You want celtics players you pay the money if not buy from motherwell before.

Possibly - insofar that he’d proven that he can play with the very best week-in-week-out. It’s one thing suspecting he could, but another knowing he can.

DT has done everything we have seen of him at Motherwell (and more). He hasn’t even had any European exposure.

Doesn’t really matter though - as I said, he ain’t going anywhere.

To be fair, he did score the winner against Lille who are likely about to win Ligue 1.

Whether David Turnbull is a player like Scott Brown who might like to stay long term at Celtic or is like Stuart Armstrong and will want to move on after 3-4 years at Celtic I do not know. But there is zero chance of Aston Villa or anybody else signing Turnbull for 7m this summer. Ryan Christie for that price yes David Turnbull not a chance.

We didn’t play him until November because we had a * charlatan as manager and only ended up giving him a game because he’d disgraced us in Europe and wanted to rest ‘key players’ in a dead rubber.

He couldn’t get a game for the u21’s either so I take that means Alan Campbell and better than him since they got picked ahead of him?

Since he got his chance against Lille he’s been our best players by an absolute country mile. Not even our best player but probably our only player beside Ajer who’s actually performed well.

The fact he was out for a year, didn’t get into our team until November because of incompetency, couldn’t get a game for Scotland 21’s but has been called upto the Euro squad and managed to take every POTY/YPOTY going for us tells you why £7m is majorly disrespectful.

You’re genuinely * clueless about football man.

My biggest hope for Turnbull next season is that commentators stop calling him "Turnball".

Missed about 3 month's of football due to being dropped and still managed to come back and be third in Europe for chances created as well :giggle1:

I was listening to a Cynic podcast where they said Howe doesn't tend to play a 10 - favouring 4-4-2 and 4-1-4-1.
I can't remember personally what Bournemouth's setup was like under Howe but a quick Google suggests he liked a 4-4-1-1 with a 2nd striker (King)
Tactical Philosophy: Eddie Howe • Outside of the Boot
I just wonder where Turnbull fits into a setup like this and if he even suits Eddie Howe's system.

The same excuses he uses for Rogic not starting- manager is clueless, doesn’t value technical ability over running ability etc. He uses against Turnbull.

Fits in as one of the middle 2. He's more attack minded but is capable as a box to box, that was what he did for motherwell really

    Goalie
    New RB Julian Welsh Taylor
    Forrest Turnbull Soro Johnston
    New striker
    Ajeti

(based off current team, not what I'm saying it should be as first choice)

£7m is peanuts in England and definitely not mega bucks even for us in the SPFL. How could we replace our star player for £7m. It’s a non story.

100% agree that this isn’t happening for that price.

But, how do we replace him for that amount? How did we find him? How much did he cost us?

We could definitely replace him for £7million if our recruitment and scouting in particular gets sorted out.

How did we get Wanyama, Dembele, Van Dijk, etc so cheap?
