Whatever he decides he wants he should get if he wants to leave he has my blessing, if he wants another crack at for another year or if he wants to go for his badges and slide into a coaching role he has my blessing.

Man is a Modern day legend for this club. And if we ever get someone to come in and has half as much influence on our team ever again we’ll be doing very well

I have had little time for him as a player this season, but his actions before the game were befitting of a Celtic captain.

    On yourself, Broony.

I would be very happy with a one year "transition" contract.

Cut his wages down to an appropriate salary, use him as sub in games that are already iin the bag, have him work for his coaching badges on the side.

We still get his leadership in the dressing room, his advice to the "new captain", his presence in and around the club. We also might get a decent coach out it in a few years.

All this talk of "showing him the door" is highly * disrespectful to a man of his standing.

Had his best game in a long while yesterday. Definitely happy for him to stay to put him through his coaching and see where it goes, but as a player his best days are way behind him.

He played decent, but everytime you see him he's further back than the defence backline. That surely affects thr attacking ability of our team.

    Time for him to go.

We shouldn’t be handing out contracts for sentimental reasons.

Just cause he had one good game against them doesn’t warrant him a new one year contract. Look at this season as a whole.

His time is up, been a fantastic servant but we need to rip the plaster off and move forward without him being any part of the new set up.

There is no time for sentiment when we need to move forward and progress.

Wish him well for the future.

I hope he stays. He's still good enough to play a (reduced) part in this team and he'll be important in this transition period

I was in the camp of time is up but under a new coach and structure, as captain, he could be vital in the transitional period as you say..

Definitely no as a starter and taking a much bigger wage cut, more a leader in the dressing room and on the bench coming on to shore us here and there..

I won't be disappointed if it is time up this summer and he'll go with my best wishes but it may be sensible to have him around still..

The probelm is if he stays, the new manager will feel obligated to play him as he's the captain. We have all seen this happen so many times. All the fans that wanted him to stay will be on here moaning that he gets a game every week.

Time to cut ties & move on with the new system we seem to be going to bring in.

    That can't happen..

If he gets a new, reduced deal and under a new coach with no loyalty or ties to him then I don't see that being an issue..

It's a tough one.. I still think he can do a job for us as a squad player and help with the new players and dressing room etc but as pointed out he will be captain and maybe pressure to play him might be too much for the new manager

Probably best for him career wise to move on and he probably knows this himself. I'd say he'll be off

We have seen this happen before at us & other teams. Lambert & Lennon. Even Gerrard at Liverpool.

They will soon grow to respect him if he gives them the same commitment he's gave to us.

Think it makes sense to give him another year but the new DOF and Manager will be the ones to make that decision.

It's a whole lot of experience to be throwing down the swanny when he doesn't need to be playing week in and week out.

He wasn’t bad yesterday, just fine. I see folk saying he was great but that’s just because he didn’t have a shocker. He’ll get another year if he wants one I’d imagine it will be up to him. Not too bothered either way but if he does stay he will need to play a lot this.

I agree with you there. Brown's influence throughout the club is massive. I think it would be a good move to have him back for one more year. As you say not as a starter but someone who can come in and play some games and really help behind the scenes the transition.

Love the guy but it's time for him to move on.
Don't want to see him become the whipping boy when his performances are that of a 36/37 year old man.

Leave now Broony with you're head held high. You've been fantastic for us.
