I have a feeling something can’t be far away on this one. It’s been the same three serious names mentioned for a while in Harkin, Tognozzi and Webb. Harkin has been well
documented and rumoured to be the man
selected. Tognozzi has declared an interest, as has Webb.

I don’t see the likes of Collins being considered for the post. I have a funny feeling as others have said we have already made our mind up and it’s a case of them making their choice known when trying to punt season books.

Seen that on Twitter there. He’s correct saying most of Scotland don’t understand the fundamentals of the role. No chance we’ll do it the correct way.

 

I certainly don't so it was good to read a short outline of some of the things involved. It just makes me realise just how slow and unprofessional we have been in our approach to growing as a club. There was a time I thought we were forward thinking aswell

Everyone crying out for the need to appoint a DOF when it seems we had one all along. Doesn't appear like it worked very well.

 

We tried appointing a manager and we got Neil Lennon, that doesn't appear to have worked out very well. Maybe we don't need one after all. The players can manage themselves.

He wasn’t a DOF. It was a fake title. Don’t get hung up on titles, you’ll sound like an idiot that doesn’t get it.

we can but live in hope, its what the club has been talking about doing for ages lets see if they can put their money where their mouth is and set it up correctly with good quality coaches

 

Interesting read that, although makes me think despite us going for a DoF that we'll still be some way off that type of setup with several key football departments all functioning with the same philosophy. It won't harm our domestic success but in Europe and long term vision we need to be thorough in our setup and staffing.

The point he makes about not just hiring a guy cause he played at the highest level for us hits home the most though. We literally have Kennedy, McManus, O'Dea all in positions just cause they've pulled on the hoops. Hopefully the biggest change with a DoF coming in will be that removal of sentimentality and adopting strict recruitment of the best possible staff within our budget.
