Potential Manager Suggestions?

It was one of the names suggested in response to those tweets I posted earlier. Most of them have been deleted now.

 

I wouldn't have a problem with that. He is completing (I believe) a Master's degree in coaching at the Cruyff institute. He spent 2 years playing for Martinez and 2.5 as a coach working with Martinez at the world number 1 international team.

I wouldn't be unhappy if we get someone like Howe or Rafa. However, if we're not going for a "name" - I'd much rather take a chance on Maloney than someone like Keane. My preference would be Martinez and Maloney but, if Martinez wants to stay with Belgium and Shaun's up for it - I'm happy for us to give him a shot.

 

just like we have issues getting the very top class players we will have issues getting the very top class managers

my head tells me shauns still a bit young for the managers job but assistant to an experienced coach definately

 

Steve Clarke for me is both a cert to happen & the correct choice

If it's that you think he's too negative or his football is too boring, he's only * with the * he's been given at the different clubs he's been at & with Scotland.

Give him the * we have, he'll be using it to be open, expansive & entertaining at home to Hamilton, Ross County etc in order to dish out pumpings, whilst at the same time being pragmatic in the tougher fixtures in Europe & against Sevco.

Gets the best out his players, knows Scottish football, knows how to work on a budget which we'll need after this pandemic, what's not to want?

 

I don't think he could handle it. Plus his record pre Kilmarnock isn't great

Agreed, they lost Lukaku and expected him to maintain the same standards, madness.

 

A guy with a link to one big club in the UK, somewhat rated in Europe in certain quarters but largely unknown as a manager in Britain? Rebrov maybe? Played with Spurs.

 

I still think Shevchenko is a decent outside shout given the rumours that have came out tonight as well

 

So how will that work, have to wait till after Scotland's Euro campaign? He will have so little time to get things sorted.
Could we not go for him now and let him still do the Scotland gig part time?

Not sure but I just think it'll happen, I remember Steve Clarke doing an interview with Scotland a few months ago & he was talking about missing the day to day life of football, he won't get a bigger offer than the Celtic job, I feel we're too big to turn down for him, especially with him wanting to get back into the daily football life.

 

Has to be a known successful manager or the fans wont buy it. Ffs remember we all went to see rodgers and they had to open the stand. Thats how big a name we need again oh and plenty of OUR money to spend.hate our tory board.*.HH

 

Most imortant thing is we need the manager in asap like next week to give them time and money to get the rebuild going..half our squad are leaving in the summer ffs.HH

 

Correct choice yes, won't happen as he has ruled himself out of managing in Glasgow. Also, he's earned himself a crack at WC qualifiers. I'm 100% certain the next manager won't be Clarke.

Of relatively realistic options, I'd take Trpišovsky.

 

Can we hurry up and get him in whoever it is.
