Lampard done an amazing job at Derby... Chelsea came too early for him. * the Gerrard V Lampard!! I just want a man at the wheel who knows what hes doing and has connections, Lampard is jst tht man.
Too many of you thinking about the Huns a tad too much here.

Thanks mate. I totally forgot to mention Roberto Martinez though! Now he would make a very exciting appointment and who knows maybe the wife wants a move home and with Shaun Maloney at his side it would certainly shift a few season tickets. Martinez could well be looking a new challenge but Celtic would have to get in the queue for his services if he did leave Belgium. He would be in high demand. A Desmond appointment though within the realms of possibility.

No chance. Lampard is a diddy, same as Lennon. Thinks you just pick the best players and tell them to go out and win.

We should 100% doing everything we can to get Clarke here. He has his teams organised with and without the ball and well drilled defensively, things that we are sorely lacking.

Outside of international football Martinez hasn't really done much as a manager. He won the FA Cup but relegated Wigan that season too.

Apparently Martinez is absolutely meticulous in everything he does.

Same sort of standard as Rodgers.

A Martinez & Maloney double act would give me the horn.

His missus is Scottish if I remember right and Maloney would probably jump at the chance to come back as number 2..

Hard to see him walking away from Belgium as they look favourites or 1 of them to win the Euro's....unless their contracts are running out?

Premier league manager who has been working with some of the best player's in the world for year's now. So will have that standard or developed it working with your De Bruyne's..

Seems to be a good type in the sense the player's generally like him. Maloney has that know how and also was a coach here first..

I definitely wouldn't be against this at all..

    There's a few I'd welcome. Very hopeful..

The boy of the blethered podcast was just on there, Sean McDonald, and spoke well on ssn. This is a much better day troops. We'll be back :50:

I would love him but Martinez would not leave Belgium to come to Celtic, let's be serious for a second.

I just want a forward thinking, progressive manager with a high level of professionalism and pragmatism when needed. Don't care who he is or where he's from, just give us that.

I’d hazard a guess that Sky will be pumping all sorts of TV deal bonuses/money our way to make it Lampard.

    Not for me..

He might see us as a way back into PL management, didn't realise he was as young as 47, 2/3 years at us with Maloney taking over at the end could be great.

Martinez already knocked us back years ago for Wigan because they were a "bigger" club to him, he's not coming here.

Actually just reading that Martinez is contracted until 2022 so unless Belgium are papped out of the Euros in the group stage I doubt he is going anywhere.

Martinez with our defenders is a nightmare waiting to happen.

Domestically he's been * guff defensively. I can't see him improving our defence above what it already is achieving. Honestly.

Thing is the pragmatic, organised option of Clarke is appealing right now given the calamity we've seen. But I don't think he'd ever take the job, fans as whole wouldn't warm to his vision either.

It will be a tough job for the new ceo to get right as he's likely going to have to get in a shock name we didn't see coming to try and tempt fans back. That won't be any of the usual suspects we've seen mentioned all too often, no matter how much I dream of getting in a guy like Rafa or to a lesser extent, Howe.

Probably end up with someone of the likes of that Farke at Norwich. Fans are gagging for some ambition like Rodgers, but I'm weary and think we'll get handed a right bang average no mark.

It wont matter in the slightest who we get if they arent backed properly to compete in europe.
Let the manager do the job properly and back them financially.

Being absolutely serious, who does everyone think we’ll get? No fantasy choices, realistic options given our situation and how are board normally recruit.

I’d personally love someone like Howe but can’t see it. Realistically, I’d take someone like Maresca providing we have a good set of coaches and DOF around him.

If however I had to put money on someone, I think it’s likely to be a Roy Keane or Steve Clarke type of signing.
