And for a young player from abroad he's been here quite a spell and from a young age. All credit to him in how he's conducted himself.

Even as one of the possible "wantaways" he's consistently put a shift in.

The scandanavian market is absolutely where we should be looking for young up and coming players, unless brexit has shut the door on that (I don't know?)

Brexit has made it more difficult due to the ratings of the Norwegian and Swedish leagues but I believe a grace period has been granted to clubs which covered January and the forthcoming summer window.

Denmark is relatively ok and if the player is involved in the countries international set up even at youth level that also helps.

There’s a few good players coming out that market again with most of them going to Serie A or Eredivisie at the moment for prices between £1m - £2.5m. It does seem daft we given we have had decent success from there in the past that we don’t sign more players from that market.

We won't be able to replace him this summer, going to be a bigger loss than Eddie imo.

He's a natural midfielder, asked to do the role of centre half. That seems to be forgotten. I actually think he would be a very good midfielder, but again, a player we have wasted in an unnatural position.

I disagree. Just because he came through as a midfielder doesnt mean thats where he should play. He has the attributes to be a centre half at the top level. Quick, strong, good on the ball. Still alot to learn but the potential is there. He doesn't have the pass, creativity or quickness of thought to play midfielder at a high level for me.

Hes good at bringing the ball out of defence bit thats totally different to actually playing midfield. I think being a centre half will maximise his career.

One who has played with passion throughout this year.

Was glad it was him that sank the pk for QT.

Going to be a huge void when he goes in summer.

I don’t think we’ve wasted him at all. He’s our best defender and has, for the most part, been excellent for us.

I’d be surprised if he plays in midfield on a regular basis during his career. He’s a perfect modern day centre back. Just needs some polishing here and there.

Been superb this season, easily our best player throughout the season.

He has improved hugely since last season where he was poor for a period and looked like he was desperate to get away.

    Will be missed.

Player of the year and one of the few who can hold his head up high.

Not sure why people still refer to him as a midfielder doing a CBs role, he has been a CB now since he was 17.

And he's improved this season at all aspects of defending, postionally much better, doesn't dive in as much and better in the air.. If we was a little tougher he would have everything.

I know it looks like he will leave in the summer. He will be entering the final year of his contract come the summer so it makes sense if he truly wants to leave we sell this summer. I am still holding out hope though that we can somehow persuade him to stay and sign a new contract. I know it is unlikely but I would certainly be hoping we offer him whatever the max that we can offer is. Regardless he is a class act and has conducted himself both in terms of performances and attitude brilliantly this season which considering what a * show the season has been is a testament to his character.

He'll be off mate, I'm afraid..

Only glimmer would be the appointment of a high calibre coach that he feels he could develop under.. And that prospect seems far away at the moment.
Thinks the rat may come in for him and maybe McGregor too..

I remember making a comment that Milan will probably sign him after he was the only guy to look like a footballer for us when we played them.

Got bombarded with "good * him" "he's * anyway" comments.

Really strange some of the treatment he has received throughout his time here. I think it's jealously more than anything.
