Trying is the bare * minimum and is completely irrelevant. I would try ffs. Only in scotland could that be a thing. Tinpot.

He’s a wee guy who found his level at a team like Kilmarnock, Celtic should never have signed him, don’t actually blame the guy for jumping at the chance of a move and as people have said previously whether he gives 100% or not he’s just not good enough to be at Celtic

Hold on, there's folk defending this imposter?

He's levels below where we should be and being honest, I'm still not sure he's good enough to be back up here. Would sell if an offer comes in.

Until we get a suitable replacement for him then I would rather have a guy who will give 100% for the team than some half hearted player who couldn't give a *

Are people actually blaming him for a goal at the back post against a player who was a foot taller than him?

Blame the centre back's who went front post.

He's the new whipping boy. They had to find a replacement for Morgan.

Tbh there are legitimate criticisms of Taylor. I know we can't really expect another Tierney but there are some very obvious flaws to his game and while I think he's a useful squad player who will be reasonably cheap to keep, I'd be looking for better in the summer, especially as I can't see us keeping Laxalt.

Taylor is always going to be a target for high balls. The same as Tierney was for a good while. It was Ajer that was totally out of position for the goal as he tracked a man that Duffy should have had.

Criticism is ok but too much strays into abuse. All you can ask is that any player gives 100% which he does. I think he has attributes that are ignored and he always makes a contribution and never hides. I'm not saying he's a great player but the abuse he gets is ridiculous. Even if you don't think he's good enough you should be blaming the manager for picking him - do you expect him to say to Lennon 'don't pick me from now on I don't think I'm good enough'.

Haven't seen anything abusive about Taylor in this thread?

I think calling him farcical, utter gash and an imposter are at least verging on abuse. Maybe abuse is too strong a word but there's a lot of over the top criticism. Gets a lot of criticism for his final ball but I think he actually plays a lot of decent passes in and around the box. Our strikers have a bad habit of hiding behind defenders as well. I've been saying for a while why do our strikers not get in front of defenders at the front post when we've got the ball wide - first time any of them have done it in ages and Eddy gets a goal on Sunday.

Last few games he's actually played very well, but doesn't stop him being singled out constantly. Could be forgiven for forgetting you're on a Celtic fans forum when reading on here while he's playing.

One of the issues with the team's poor form as a whole is that criticism will tend to intensify, even for the smallest mistakes. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Taylor, assuming Laxalt leaves in the summer we need to find a new left back and we should always aim to get better than what we have.

Let’s be honest mate Morgan wasn’t good enough either we all knew it except stubborn Neil and again Lennon playing him as our lone striker in the bet Fred cup final was another disaster of a decision, that the wall Forster managed to bail him out of that time

Totally agree mate, he’s seems a nice enough wee guy and he does try his hardest all people are saying is they don’t rate the guy as being good enough for Celtic, haven’t noticed anyone be abusive about the guy as a person

He's not good enough it's as simple as that. We weren't expecting another Kieran tierney but we were expecting a guy who can defend and add to the offensive side if our game, he does neither. I was hoping he'd be as good as tosh McKinley but he's nowhere near his level.

It should be the bare minimum but often its not, Especially from players who think they're too good to be playing for us. Thats why people mention it, hard work is as much as an attribute as speed etc. Some players have it, some players never will.

Did he not set up the winner? That’s more than bare minimum.

He seems like a good lad, and he does genuinely try I'm not gonna deny him that, but imo he just isn't good enough to be a first choice for us.

Maybe a decent squad filler, but for * sake we need much better than him. I get some folk will be comparing him to Tierney which is really unfair, but you do have to judge on the quality of player we had to the one(s) we have now.
