Will definitely be a failure then, the game done that story perfectly. Fans will be annoyed it’s not as good and describing what it will be to people who don’t know it will take it as a Walking Dead clone. Which everybody has lost patience with.

Do a season or 2 (Depending on how many episodes) of the first game and end it where that game ended.

After that do the second game without Ellie and do it about WLF vs Seraphites.

I enjoyed the 2nd one, was hard hitting in parts, but was never going to hit the heights of the first. It was a game that didn’t need a sequel.

Sometimes an ambigious ending is the best way to end a story. A sequel years later will never be better than ‘your’ version of what happened next.

I think it’s perfect for tv honestly, and the show runner(Chernobyl) and HBO leaves me without any doubts really that it’ll be a brilliant show regardless of what I think of the game.

I just hope they don’t go full GOT when they run out of material.

The Walking Dead’s problem was it became repetitive and ran out of decent storylines but continued to milk it. Sounds like they’re still using Negan as the big bad in it about 5 years later :giggle1:

For me the second one felt like a ‘backdoor pilot’ game.

They clearly wanted to a game about the politics of the world they were in but completely butchered Joel and Ellie’s story to try and justify the Abbie as a villain etc.

They should’ve just had a game following Abbie and the WLF, giving Joel a mention as some sort of boogeyman to them, and had their war vs the Seraphites.

You might be able to tell but I’m still not over how badly they * the games up for me :56:

I always see the politics thing and it’s usually about Ellie being gay (not saying you’re saying that btw) but that was revealed in the first ones DLC and she was modelled on Ellen Page.

i just think they made the second for money, the first because they had a story to tell.

Nah I mean the politics in the modern TLOU world like the differences between the WLF and the Seraphites. Like how they were basically segregated, a militia vs a cult etc.

I thought they handled the Ellie sexuality story perfectly to be honest. Left Behind DLC was * incredible man.

I agree there mate, and how much it was criticised probably makes people (like me) more defensive bout it, cos that was one of the loudest criticisms and had been a fact from the first one.

The heavy handed story is part of them not actually having a story to tell and needed to just make one for a sequel for me though, but it was still a very good story and game despite it’s flaws.

Was just nowhere near the original.

Which is why I think a series will fail, they’ve already told the story they wanted to tell, in the way they wanted to tell it.

You’ll never get the same attachment towards the characters or the relationship between them than those moments that you’re in trouble but she’s saved you and you’re just ecstatic that it happened because you did not want to replay a bit you just struggled through.

like Kratos and Atreus in the new * of War.

Well so far the casting looks poor. Good actors, just a bad fit looks wise.

The walking deads problem is theyve never moved the story on, they went all humans are the bad ones. They could have fired in some zombie mutations, gave us the fear again where a zombie is actually scary.

Anyway looking forward to it but really don't like that girl they've picked.

Should’ve got Kaitlyn Dever for Ellie.

She'd be ideal for a TLOU2 adaptation with an older Ellie.

Not that I would ever want one.

Surely canny be right? 8 seasons? And 200m a season :giggle1:

I know their budget is supposed to be massive but * me. 20m an episode basically.
