This will sound nasty, but if the media didn't give him so much coverage he wouldn't have raised a fraction of what he did. It was a feel good story at the right time and gave a lot of people positivity. Others have done far more, but don't get the coverage or the credit. People just jumped on the media bandwagon.

It's crazy taking a 100 year old of a journey like that at any time. Doing it at the height of a pandemic is plain stupid.

He went on the 11th December and the vaccinations started on the 9th. This was a gift from British Airways and the family are already wealthy. Why not wait for the vaccination? I'm sure he'd get priority if he asked.

They are trying hard to distance the trip to his death, especially the CV19 part. He at least got ill due to the trip, which then meant he couldn't get the CV19 vaccination. It's this trip that has caused his death.

Since he was ill and housebound, how did he contact CV19? Have they delayed the CV19 results as they knew the reaction that it would cause?

You might maintain it, but you'd still be wrong.

Large parts of the country were in tier 4 in the middle of November onwards. Everyone was fully aware of what was coming.

Fair play to him for the amount of money raised for the NHS.
Don't agree with him going on holiday though, bit of a mad decision and one that's lead to his death.

However, the media coverage over this is nauseating today. News reader sitting bubbling too ffs

    RIP

The hypocrisy in coverage of our Dubai trip (which I think was reprehensible) and his Barbados jolly is funny to see.

No laws were broken with either but morality was only brought up in our case.

British Airways managing nicely to avoid any PR fallout from the mans death.

One of many people who hijacked the guys efforts, for their own benefits.

Cant say it’s tragic or unexpected given his age, but sad nonetheless.

Have no issue with the Barbados trip tbh. It’s legal and I would rather spend my final days enjoying life in the sun than have a bit more time stuck at home in the UK, personally.

The clap thing is daft though. Stuff like that is best done when it’s organic rather than instigated by a incompetent leader who’s a bit of a laughing stock to most of the country.
