. . . would Brendan Rodgers have secured the 10? Sorry for addressing another elephant in the room besides Lennon, but would like to know your totally honest and candid thoughts on this. I know it’s a bit of a pointless exercise, but I am curious regardless. Given that the board (allegedly) did not meet Brendan's ambitions because of their (alleged) penny-pinching, and given all the money that Gerrard has spent on them and the way he somewhat rejuvenated them last season and has done this one, would Brendan still have managed it? How do you think it would have all panned out?

    Fire away! :50:

Whether he won the 10 or not, the team wouldn't be trailing by 23 points by January that's for sure.

Yes. If he had been backed properly, then I have no doubt he’d have won the league and probably another treble.

Yes, even with not being backed he'd still be doing better with whatever players we'd have.

And we would most certainly not be getting schooled by Gerrard and Beale in every derby game.

If we scored more goals would we win more games.

    What's being rewritten?

He was an outstanding coach who brought the best period of success in our history with the exception of 1967.

Fair play to whoever hired him, hopefully that calibre of appointment is being sought to replace Lennon, the real rat.

Yes and our club would be the * circus it is today. Our last part of professionalism left when he did.

    * Rodgers! I don't care if he'd have delivered or not, I just know he bolted at the first real chance and that he tried to torch the place on the way out. An absolutely brilliant coach, but still a rat *! He is however what we should be holding the board to account for what we expect going forward.

Why would you want to stay at a club with a board with zero ambition? Every year they regress in budget or quality. They must promise the world to new managers to get them in the door then go back on they’re word every season. The current board let managers, players and fans down at every turn by penny pinching, losing out on players due to * about with insulting offers, instead of just paying the extra £300k.

We will never progress as a team until the board changes its attitude to becoming more professional. We’re back at the stage where just even qualifying for the champions league is regarded as a good campaign. As fans we should be demanding that was a minimum for a good season. But the issue is the board don’t invest enough in respect to the previous season success.

Sadly I’m in the majority that doesn’t fully blame him for leaving the way he did, as I see it from a footballing perspective. Yes it hurt to see him go but like the old saying goes “I wasn’t angry, just disappointed”.
